Well. Monday was another warm muggy day with a few rain clouds around which made in tolerable to work outside after lunch planting the 8 large plants we bought at a nursery after an early morning trip to the Rec for two solid hours of pickle ball. It felt good to be back on the court. I was definitely whupped after pedaling home around 10:30 and hand watering the gardens. We took off to a nursery recommended by neighbor Bobby and they had just what we wanted on a sad noter those dad gum fruit flies are still ruining my large tomato's despite applying Sevin dust. I picked another 4 or more they had eaten into and laid their eggs.
I started the day much the usual with a 6 ish roll out to my routines that start with some quiet time honoring my LORD, giving thanks for another day and lifting several up by name for comfort and healing. All are holding. I did learn an old pickle ball player passed over the weekend who I hadn't seen in a year or so and wasn't priviy to his circumstances. One of his friends who still plays with us mentioned it to me yesterday at the Rec. Everyone else is holding.
Grand daughter Ava Mae is having a wonderful time in Alaska with her school group. This is her third trip there and so some of her friends she made on prior trips came and visited her. Not much else going on except I finished the landscaping in front of the house in the heat of the afternoon as it looked like rain and I wanted to get the plants in before hand. It never did rain except for maybe a minute but nothing measurable.
I gave away another sack of collards and egg plants to neighbors and picked an egg plant and a green tomato for frying for our supper, Yikes were they ever good. Its a good year for egg plant. So far the new beans are climbing the chicken wire and the new lettuces are ready for harvesting. I don't know how much longer they will survive these hot afternoons, LATER
