Well Monday was a perfect day with lots of bright sunshine, no humidity and temps in the low70's for most of the day after a chilly start. I'm shocked to have the a/c off and the windows and doors open this time of the year. We ate out at GG's for supper and then watched our Tampa Bay teams in baseball and hockey get beaten and even our ties to the N.C. tar heels were beaten. Not a team won that I was rooting for, oh well!!!
Well the day started much the usual with a 6'ish roll out. I did my daily morning quiet moments to honor my Creator and humble myself and lift up those I know and love as well as prayed for some leadership for our nation especially with how we are being let down with such an inept and incompetent present administration. It's a disgrace and even criminal to think we are in such a mess we are in with the lack of resolve to even identify those who are determined to destroy the civilized world while holding back our military with stupid commands and orders which keep them from doing their job to defeat and destroy our enemies.
I headed out around 7:30 on my bike for a couple hours of pickle ball and then a stop afterwards at the library for a new read. Nancy was awaiting Eliza Faye to arrive as Amy and GG shop together on Monday's and its so much easier to shop without her along. They were playing in the toy room together so I piddled around in the garden after getting home. I picked another couple tomato's which were starting to show some color before the fruit flies start their destruction. I have a window sill loaded with 'maters in various shades of red but they are very tasty. I only wish I knew what type they were,as they were volunteer plants that came up in my compost, oh well. I cut another large bag of lettuces which is starting to bolt due to the heat for our military neighbor as well as some carrots. The carrots are unreal in size this year and plentiful. The cucumbers plants have taken over on the fence with a hundred blooms but none have set fruit yet. The epson salt spray has kept them green so that's a good sign. The onions continue to grow a large bulb and the couple I have pulled are so sweet.
Well Nancy volunteered at the ETC program after lunch until 5'ish then we headed over to GG's for Cincinnati chili and salad. Amy, Tyler and the kiddos all arrived as well. It's not really a chili as we know it but spaghetti noodles with a chili sauce that has some cinnamon in the flavor and then you put chopped onions on top. I found it very tasty as did everyone else. Eliza calls it "noonies" as she does most pasta. After the clean up we headed out and stopped by Amy's to check out her recently installed new back door before heading home. I had three games going at one time but was disappointed the Lightning has lost their star player due to an injury for the rest of the season. The Ray's can't seem to put the runs together when they have the chance and lost agin for the second day in a row by the identical score. When I shut the TV off at halftime N.C. was ahead but saw this morning where they lost to Villanova by a couple points, oh well, LATER
