Well Monday was another total foggy day will nary a look at the sun, but the rain held off until sometime during the night when the sound of it on the tin roof awakened me. I did get in some work outside despite the wetness and we got in a hike just before lunch to the top of the mountain. At times we were barely visible from just a few feet away and other times we could see brightness which make us think the sun would break through but it never did and by evening darkness came early with the fog, oh well. There is a chance we could get more rain later in the week from this hurricane coming towards the Carolinas.
I started the day much the usual with a before 6 ish roll out to my routines that start with a cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and ginger while I spent some quiet moments with my Creator in thanksgiving and lifting up several by name. I did get a hold of Paw Paw finally who is staying with Pat in W.Va. and while he is having some prostrate issues he sounded good on the phone. All of the rest we daily pray for seem to be holding their own. We just learned a dear friend is suffering from bone cancer and is in need of prayer. Pray for Skip if you get the chance.
I managed to get the driveway in shape once again after the past couple days of hard down pours which caused some ruts then I headed out the road to trim over hanging limbs while standing in the back of the golf cart. I then sawed some branches off of the trees in the surrounding yards and while sawing one high branch I got some saw dust in my eye and it bothered me all evening and then again this morning. I may have scratched the eye ball trying to get the speck out as the eye is watering this morning. It didn't seem to bother me during the night but this morning its a problem once again, oh well.
Well Nancy pan fried a couple rib eye steaks we had frozen a couple weeks ago and they were so delicious prepared that way instead of grilling and along with the leftover squash casserole our supper was complete. I read for a couple hours until the eye began to bother me then decided to watch a little TV for a change until it was shower time around 10'ish, LATER
