Well Wednesday was a work day except for late evening when I hit the pickle ball court for nearly two hours with 4 other players and I had a shirt soaked work out. The biggest part of the day in between rain showers was spent on reconstructing the arbor which we had a do over a couple of times to get it looking the way we wanted it to look. The wind over the winter had nearly flatten it and it wasn't great for photo shoots like years in the past.
I started the day much the usual with a before 6 rollout to my usual routines that start with the proverbial handful of Nutrilite Vitamins and supplements washed down with a cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and a slice of raw ginger root while I posted this ramble this spent a few quiet moments with my Creator in thanksgiving and lifting up several by name. All is well as I've heard no difference. Our dear friend Joe had some cancer removed from his lip which required 20 stitches, yikes and he is 91 years young.
Susan and Richard brought up a bag of delicious Georgia peaches so I had two for my breakfast and then I headed out to check on the gardens and flower beds. There are more Zinnias popping up and the lettuces are leaving some green colors in the veggie beds. I need to transplant my kale seedlings as I lost two yesterday for some unknown reason. I headed up into the back woods to cut new poles for the arbor and then I torn down what was left standing or leaning of the old one. That kept me busy for quite a spell as I would have to stop every hour or so for the rain. The fog had moved in also which required a long sleeve flannel shirt for most of the morning but by late afternoon we had blue skies and bright sunshine, finally. I along with Nancy's help and instruction finished up the arbor around 5 and then had a bite to eat before heading out at 6 for the pickle ball court at the Roaring Gap Club along with 4 others. We had a new player who is an old family friend and while he is in his 20's he picked up the game quickly. I was able to leave by 8 so the other 4 who are 30-50 years younger could wear themselves out. I was bushed after being on my feet most of the day.
We ate leftovers for lunch on a wrap and then finished up the beans and corn for supper, yeow such fine eatin'. I love the way we eat here in the mountains with bacon favorite dishes which bring out the taste. Seems everything tastes better here and I think the quality of the water from the well makes a difference. The city water in Florida is treated with some chemicals and tastes yucky and I'm a water drinker. No sodas and occasionally a glass of sweet tea but mainly water.
I hit the shower after getting home and helping Nancy move some beds out of the way upstairs as the a/c folks come today to install the ductless a/c. It's been so damp and chilly I'm having second thoughts but I do remember those couple days when we had the window a/c on, yuck, oh well. It wasn't long after reading for a few the sandman called around 10, LATER
