Tuesday Morning March 2 ND

Well Monday started out beautiful like a Spring day at the cabin with just enough coolness in the air and the birds were singing and the fresh smell of the earth in your nostrils made for a glorious ride on my bike to the Rec ; but by late morning all that changed until late afternoon when the heat abated and it became quite nice outside in the evening breeze. It's beginning to feel like summer has invaded the area with temps in the upper 80's and above. I know one thing and that is the leafy greens are wilting during those really hot afternoon hours but recover overnight. This is the time of the year much of the garden despite how beautiful it is, starts to fade until next November.

The day started much like many days with a before 6 rollout to my routines of a cup of green tea while I post this ramble then some quiet moments with my Creator and Lord in thanksgiving and lifting others up  for comfort and healing. Kathryn is still a long ways away from recovering completely, if ever. Nancy seems to be encouraged with a fairly good report from all of her cat scans and imaging over the past week. She has some issues with the liver and gall bladder but nothing serious enough to require further attentions except some changes in her diet and some weight loss. I too will help her to eat right but she is a hard one to tell one what to do or make suggestions as I too want to drop a few pounds. We are trying to stay away from sugars in desserts and breads and starches and stick with fresh veggies and fruits.

I got in two hours of solid pickle ball play at the Rec and left with a wet head and worn down. The ride on the way home was a rather warm one after a beautiful morning. I piddled around in the gardens pulling some weeds and hoeing then hand watering. I harvested more green beans and cut back some of these tomato plants that are spilling out of their cages. They are going crazy with growth and setting lots of fruit as well.

After a lunch of garden salad I read the rest of the afternoon and finished SYAMORE ROW by Grisham. What an ending as is most of his books where a wrong committed decades and generations ago were righted by the decision of the main character despite him being dead. He loves the court room and depicts the law profession action vividly; some with good intent and some nefariously. I started a new read, a memoir titled A FISH OUT OF WATER. We heard him speak at Calvary Chapel in California and he has written some very interesting books and is well know in the political circles as he once spoke at the Prayer Breakfast in D.C. during the Obama administration with the potus and his cabinet in attendance. So he has standing and is recognized for his writings and speaking engagements.

I grilled peppers and onions and then marinated chicken breast for our supper along with some black beans, no starches. I added some herbs to mine from the garden and the flavor was delicious. Well that was about it for the day as I hit the showers and then watched some of the Oak Island Saga on the history channel before lights out at 10 for me, LATER
