Well Friday was an uneventful day as we slept in after a late night of games and did nothing except have a late morning brunch of fresh fruit and BLT's, yeow, were they ever delicious which held us until supper time around 6'ish. We played another couple rounds of Hand and Foot during the afternoon and were tied with wins by both teams until once again last evening when the gals slaughtered us guys in the last round which lasted until 11:30, oh well I think we have Mike and Dee hooked on the game which is addictive.
We took the leisure drive along the old route to Winchester which is RT 11. It was the old battle ground route that saw many of the Civil War battles and all of the quaint small towns from the early days of our colonies . We passes some historical buildings where the first 5 presidents of our nation stayed and slept in and one of the oldest Inns in America at the Wayside Inn from the early 1600's. Such history and the drive is just beautiful in the Shenandoah Valley.
We met up with the other two sisters who are actually first cousins but their parents took me in and raised me as a small lad before the three girls were born. I remind then I changed all of their cloth diapers back in the days. All are aging with the oldest at 71 and Dee the youngest who is Nancy's age who we stay with in their beautiful home. We had a round table of 8 of us for a delicious supper at Cracker Barrel. I did not remember the area of Winchester as we travelled up that route as its changed so much 1964 when I left home, Later
