Well Thursday was a more relaxed day with me taking the afternoon off to start a new read after being in Brandon for two straight days in a row which allowed me to cat nap at times after a good morning workout on the pickle ball court. I left whupped and with a wet shirt as well.
The day started much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my cup of hot green tea laced turmeric while a posted this ramble and the spent some time with my Creator and Lord in thanksgiving and lifting several up by name. All seem as well as can be expected. I headed out a little before 8 on my bike for a blustery ride to the Rec. for two solid hours of pickle ball play with only the more experienced players as we have the gym the first two hours on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Wow what great rallies and long games.
I stopped off at the library on the way home for a couple reads one which Bobby mentioned I would like and I haven't been able to put it down since after lunch. It's titled IMAGINARY FRIEND and its a huge read, over 700 pages and I read about a fourth of it during the afternoon and evening. It's different and much like a Stephen King type of book but well written which leaves you wanting more information. I suspect from what I've read this will become a motion picture some day, oh well.
After getting back from the library I worked in the garden harvesting sugar peas and radishes as well as giving a mess of collards to my next door neighbor. It's starting to warm up daily to the 80's but the wind dries out the garden so I'm watering everyday again and yesterday twice as the new seedlings are maturing. The egg plants on one bush are setting fruit but the other plant next to it is bare but loaded with blooms. I did mix up some bone meal and gave the garlic plants a feedings and put some around the tomato's and egg plants hoping that maybe that would stimulate the plants to set fruit, oh well.
Where ever I dig in the garden its full of earthworms which is a great sign. I'm still burying our table scraps except for meat in the gardens and the worms break them down within a week giving them plenty of compost to mature and multiply. The radishes I harvested were perfect and so sweet and juicy. I have two more small rows that are up on the side garden. I sure hope they do as well as the ones are doing in the back yard garden. The cucumbers are sending out runner and are doing fantastic, just maybe these will make as the last vines looked great and then one day just started dying.
Well I grilled deer burgers for our supper and they were so delicious and juicy as well. Many thanks to mountain neighbor Gerald who blessed us with several packages of the meat last Fall before we left. I have two leftover for lunches today (friday) and as I always say if I could get venison weekly I would not eat beef again; its that delicious and so good for you and Nancy agrees as well. After the cleanup which was nothing much as we settled into the town hall meeting on Fox Cable with our duly elected potus Trump. He is not a politician and say's just what he thinks and does just what he promises. Sometime we cringe at his comments but he takes no cuff off the MSM and calls them just what he thinks; fake news. I love it and he reminds me of a combo of Teddy Roosevelt and Reagan. We definitely need a patriotic American leader who puts the USA first and he fits the bill because he is a self made man and beholding to none. Now with another four years just maybe we get rid of all the radicals in the congress and put the nation on a secure footing as well as put the MSM on notice of bankruptcy with some much needed lawsuits for their fabricated corrupt reporting.
I headed into the bedroom and after a shower watched the Lightning destroy the Canadians in hockey 4-0 and then a little of the show Life Below Zero. It's a living off the grid show which I enjoy with man versus the outdoors, LATER
Just a sample of todays harvest
