Thursday Morning Oct 10th Morning after Milton in Pinllas Co., Fl.

Well we wait to hear from friends and family who rode out that hurricane and are praying all survived and to learn if we still have a house in Seminole. More on that event, but it was disaster for our area from what I've seen on the news, but no news from those on the ground.

Well Wednesday started out with us here at the cabin in the mountains around 6'ish but our thoughts and prayers were with family and friends in Florida. It was a chilly start to the day but eventually warmed up to be rather pleasant by noon. I did my usual routines that begin with some quiet times to honor my lord, Jesus, give thanks for another day and to lift several up by name for comfort and healing, all seem to be holding with this post. I headed out after posting this ramble to stretch and walk the perimeter of the property for some exercise before having a breakfast of eggs, bacon and grits with a tomato and jalapeno pepper in the mix. That basically held me until 1'ish when I ate the last of the leftover beans from a couple days ago. I did grill a couple of pork chops around 6'ish for our supper along with a fresh head of cauliflower and a small garden salad.

Our thoughts and prayers through out the day was for our family and friends riding out Milton in our area and of course those already devastated by the storm that destroyed so many here in N.C. I did pickup a generator for my neighbor here who has moved permanently to his cabin just down the road. He and his wife were helping his older brother clean up the damage to his summer place on the New River over in Virginia which isn't far from us. The terrible storms this summer have killed and destroyed so much of America which haven't happened to some areas in over a century, especially here in the mountains and then again where we live in Pinellas County, Florida.

Well we took a golf cart ride to the top of the mountain and it was just a beautiful afternoon but we saw lots of trees down from the storm a week or so ago which left us without power for a couple days and caused me to purchase a generator in case this happens again. Our damage here was mainly a couple trees down and the inconvenience of no power whereas further to the west it was total destruction with loss of life for many from the flooding and whole towns washed away. I'm afraid from what I've seen already this morning the destruction to our home and others we know is severe.

Last evening before the major winds hit, a tree behind us in Seminole, on our neighbors property fell on the power line knocking out power to our street and resting on the power line over our shed, which I'm sure is totally destroyed as these trees were huge. We are hopeful if we still have a roof on our house and no major inside damage. We just had both bathrooms remodeled this summer, oh well. We are thankful we still have the cabin and will probably be here awhile. We are hopeful our family and friends survived this event which was powerful to say the least, we haven't heard any news yet this morning with this post, LATER
