Well after the cold weather last week never would I have thought it would get this hot again and with such humidity as well; but it's here and it looks as if it will stay this hot for several more days. Outside in the shade it's rather pleasant at times but the humidity is very high. I laid out of pickle ball for the day and maybe the rest of the week as I try to get rid of this head and chest cold. I don't want to get my body weakened from too much hard activity and believe me Monday and Tuesday was non-stop action.
The day started with me trying to sleep in until 7 but I was wide awake much earlier than I wanted to be. The head was congested and I could hear a rumble deep down in my chest although I didn't feel bad; just stopped up. Finally after some breakfast of a egg burrito with some jalapeno pepper and onion I started to feel congestion free although my voice intimated I was still congested. I decided to head to Home Depot for some L brackets to fasten the recently covered chair seats to the frame and did that ever make that job so much easier. I then lightly used steel wool to remove old marks and scuffs and then gave the chairs a complete light coat of water base poly urethane. Wow did that ever bring the color back to the chairs with the now new red seat coverings.( sorry I didn't record this in pics)
I worked on this project until lunch time then decided to clean a few areas out of the cluttered garage. I threw away two large trash cans of stored stuff that has sat vacant for 10 years. Some of it was old FHP memorabilia from when I retired as well as other stuff I just never used anymore. It will take me days to give this garage a good cleaning and sorting; I almost feel like a hoarder.
Amy and the kiddo's came for lunch and we dined on cold meat loaf sandwiches with mayo, onion, lettuce and tomato, yikes that is one fine lunch and I washed mine down with a cold dark Yuengling. I use to read Lawrence Sanders books where the police detective in the stories each day described the sandwiches he had for lunch and I could almost taste them through the pages of his very in-dept descriptions and this lunch so reminded me of him. After lunch I piddled around in the gardens and then delivered the chairs back over to Amy's as they were having Tyler's dad and sister for about a week of visiting from Kansas. They were pleasantly surprised at how well the chairs turnout and Ava loved the color of the seats. I saved over 300 bucks doing it myself and enjoyed the challenge.
I grilled Italian sausages for supper and along with fresh green beans and a fresh garden salad we ate well. After the clean up we settled into the Fox News channel until after O'Reilly then it was shower time for me and then a few chapters of Sandra Brown. Nancy seems to be improving daily since she was prescribed some penicillin like antibiotics for her condition and her ultra sound showed no abnormalities which we are so thankful. Just and FYI for those of you who read this ramble and were or are customers of mine in Amway. This month for the first time ever our team leaders have made a generous offer that ALL of the items offered by our Amway site are BOGO. That even includes the Ribbon Gifts up to a limit of $2500.00 bucks of merchandise per individual customers and IBO's like myself. Also they have offered to reimburse your shipping costs if your order is completed by the 10th of this month and you have at least ordered a minimum of products with a total value of $100.00 or 30 PV's. Take advantage of this offer and remember this offer is from my team leaders and NOT Amway. Check out my store at www.amway.com/JNTriplett, LATER
