Well Saturday was another humid day with plenty of sunshine until late afternoon when the skies opened up with down pours, some thunder and lightning as well until late evening. I'm sure the driveway is washed out with ruts once again. It was a fun day with great eating and game playing as Sheri and Steve joined us after lunch for a couple of hours of Hand and Foot. We now have Amy and Tyler interested in the game as well but the guys prevailed once again despite their complaints of my score keeping. It was a fun time but we will not see the Nymark's again until the end of September as they are off traveling around the country visiting with family.
The bat lady came around 1'ish and worked finishing up her project of making the cabin unfriendly to bats. Her work already had them roosting outside the roof under the eves but she made it even harder for them to do that. Hopefully this is the end of them seeking our cabin for their home. This was an expensive event but one that now has the cabin free of their invasion. We love the fact that bats eat so many insects but not with their dropping on the deck and their noise inside the bump out over the roof. She brought her young kiddos with her and we got to meet another Ryder who is 5 months old along with her oldest son who helps her with her job. She is a worker and is not afraid of heights and seems to know what she is doing. Lets hope they are gone for at least 5 years which she guarantees on the contract. We got to know a little about her and how she got in the business and about her family.
Well we all took a hike down to visit Sheri and Steve's "bear cave" as Sheri calls it. Its a very nice shipping container that Steve made into small apartment like living dwelling. Steve has done a great job making it livable. They still have the camper but will probably take it back to Florida this winter for repairs and to sell purchasing a larger one for the campground. He has three areas already for camper's or RV's. We visited with them and then took a hike with them up part ways to the top before heading back down the steep backwoods trail on our property. Rocky was having a great time running through the woods but he got so hot we let him stay down in the basement where the floor was cold.
Well Tyler and Sam left at 6 this AM for their hike on the Appalachian Trail for the next 4 days. They hope to hike at least 40 miles starting down in Georgia and go north. Lets keep them in our thoughts and prayers for safety and good weather, as well as for the Nymark's as they also leave this AM for Tennessee and eventually to Michigan to see family, LATER
