Thursday Morning

Well the 4th celebration turned to be just awesome with friends, good food and some great corn hole pitching before and after the eats. I spent all morning getting the yards ready for our company by edging with the weed whacker and then mowing as well as hand watering the gardens. We could use a little rain and its in the forecast for the weekend and some much cooler close to normal temps of in the 70's for highs. We've had in the middle 80's the past few days and the new a/c had made it quite comfortable in the cabin.

I started the day much the usual with my routines that start with the Nutrilite vitamins and supplements, a cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and a slice of fresh ginger while I posted this ramble and then spent some quiet time with my Creator. All is well with those I lift up daily for comfort, healing and traveling mercies as both of our kids travel with their families in the next week or so. Bobby is bringing his family here to the cabin next week and Amy is heading out to Kansas with her family for a couple of weeks. I do not envy that long trip with three kiddos but I know Tyler's family is thrilled for their visit.

We had the Luffman's and friends of their's over for dogs, burgers, baked beans, green bean casserole, and salsa, concaso and guacamole to get the gastric juices flowing. They all arrived around 3'ish and stayed until 7'ish. A few folks had to cancel due to some personal issues but we had plenty to chow down on and then Kay made and brought a container of home made strawberry ice cream for our dessert. Needless to say we waddled away from the picnic table out on the deck which made for a pleasant eating experience. We corn hole pitchers gathered once again for another couple of rounds of tossing the bean bags into this little round hole 27 feet apart. Gerald Luffman was the big winner with whoever he played with.

They all headed out as they had chores on the farm so we settled down to hand watering the flower beds and gardens and then decided against riding to the top of the mountain to watch the fireworks off in the distance at Roaring Gap Country Club. Once you have seen them they are redundant unless you have small children which is always fun to hear their responses. We decided as dark approached to set in the comfort of the cabin and listen to music for me and Dr. Pol on the TV for her. It wasn't long until I hit the shower and was in the horizontal position reading until 10'ish before it was lights out, LATER
