Well Monday started out a bit on the chilly side but eventually warmed up by late afternoon to short sleeve temps for out afternoon hike to the top of the mountain. There was plenty of blue skies and bright sunshine for the day. I started out the day much the usual with a cup of hot tea while I posted this ramble, did some quiet time and then headed off for my solo early morning hike to have my talk with GOD.
The rest of the day was busy as we cleared out the cabinets and packed them up in tubs and boxes, did laundry and started on making the place ready for winter for an early morning departure tomorrow morning around 4'ish. We still have tons to do before leaving but hopefully will be ready with the last minute chores.
There isn't much to write about except we did enjoy our hike together in the afternoon and stopped and visited with Laura who came up to her cabin through Thanksgiving despite the fact that Bennie passed away a couple weeks ago. She is another brave lady like our mountain mom who is here full time and when we mentioned her to Laura she got her hopes up she could do the same while being alone. She does have a sister who is here part time down from her cabin and across the woods from us. We also saw Billy who lives here full time and just across the drive who will look out for Laura. He came by while we were there and we said our goodbye's with him. We saw Bertie and chatted for the first time in ages as well as Sonja and Gordon who were visiting her as we walked by and also live here now full time.
Well we finished up some more leftovers for lunch and supper from when our guests were here and by the end of today we should be cleaned out. I will still have lots to pack up and then load the truck before dark for our early morning departure. The weather is turning wintery on Thursday so we decided to get off the mountain before the freezing rain which is forecasted. 7 years ago on this day we had around 6 inches of snow when it wasn't forecasted so we don't want to be surprised like then, LATER
