Friday Morning

Well Thursday started out much the usual except for a chill that dipped down into the 40's overnight. It was down right nippy as I rode to the rec on my bike after my morning routines, yikes that north wind was going through my quilted shirt; but the sunshine was bright and looked promising towards a warm up later in the day which did happen. By late afternoon it reached the upper 60's and maybe even a 70 as the wind laid down and made for ideal conditions.

We had a full house at the rec for 2 hours of pickle ball play and I left whupped with a wet shirt at 10. I made a quick stop at the library to pick up a couple books I had on order before heading home to piddle around in the garden. Nancy was still having lots of discomfort from her root canal and the dentist called and told her to double up on the naproxin(Alieve) as she is allergic to ibuprofen. The roots were in such bad shape of the tooth he worked on and the inflammation is so acute within the area that she needs to double and triple if necessary the over the counter meds. She did start to get a little relief by days end. She always has the worst luck with root canals.

Nancy took her mother grocery shopping as she wanted to have us all for a supper of meat loaf later on this evening so while she was gone I harvested and cleaned lettuces, kale, sugar peas and beet greens for a huge salad then hand watered the gardens. We were not having anyone for lunch so we cleaned up the leftover chicken stir fry. I decided since it was peace and quiet to work on my taxes for this year and spent the next couple hours putting together my paperwork and then using Turbo Tax on-line, I E-filed my return. It was simple and fairly inexpensive to do so and they keep a record on file of your last return and for 35 bucks it's a deal. That is one "bucket list" that is done yearly and is now complete. Speaking of the IRS I learned with this new amnesty edict by the potus the illegals can get a refund without ever having to pay any tax at all. What is wrong with this picture? Don't get me started!!

We had scalloped taters, meat loaf and green beans from my garden along with a salad from Tyler's garden at GG's around 6. The supper was delicious and the kiddos ate well except for Ava as all of a sudden she doesn't like meat. Eliza Faye and Sam ate well but not Ava although she did have helpings of the other dishes. Tyler stopped in an ate quickly as he had to teach an ESL class at 6:30. After the clean up we settled in to watching the kids play and interact with one another until it was going on 8. We wanted to be home to watch the Idol Show and I switched back and forth to the Lightning game where they got beat again by the St. Louis Blues 6-3. They are still the tops in their division but this Blues team is for real in their division.

After a hot shower I finally got in some reading before lights out at 10:30 as 6 o'clock comes early, LATER
