Monday Morning

Well Sunday started very early for me with a 5 o'clock wake up as I wanted to be at the Rec. to help with the unload of the huge truck and trailer as we are a "church in a truck" so to speak. I was the third man there to help and eventually more arrived within minutes. We had the vehicles unloaded and the large roll on cases distributed to the proper areas in no time and with in an hour and half we could hear music from the auditorium for sound checks. We had 75 volunteers or so throughout the course of the morning and our first service had 117 new folks which was down from the 311 on Easter Sunday but still a good showing and the second service had 108 folks and these were not counting the kids (fifth grade to babies)which was some where around 60 for both services.

After the second service we headed home around 12:30 and met up with our Cool Peoples Club at the Botbyl home for burgers, slaw, chips and dips. We settled into the Ray's game and then the girls wanted to watch a movie so the guys came down to our house to finish watching the game which saw the Ray's blow a 4 run lead and lose the game. Yikes, the bats were working in the first inning but nothing after that, oh well we are still at .500 ball and not the worst team in our division. Nancy had made a decant dessert of chocolate pudding with Oreo cookie crust and whipped cream and we had a generous helping around 3'ish. That held me for the rest of the day while everyone else had a lite supper of salad and dips around 6'ish. We got into a raucous game of Sequence around 4'ish after their movie and the boys smoked the girls 5-2 once again.

Everyone left soon thereafter around 7'ish and we decided to meet for lunch on the beach this Friday. The Tracy's headed back to the Dade City area which is about an hour north of us. The Botbyl's and us decided to take an evening walk through the hood and got in some exercise. It was a beautiful evening with a nice breeze despite the the temps in the 80's. It was a great day of helping folks be comfortable and getting closer to GOD. We did lots of hugs, handshakes and tried to make everyone feel welcome in our second service. We have met so many nice folks in our volunteers on this launch team and are looking forward to serving with them and getting into life groups or as some call it "community", LATER
