Saturday Morning in Florida

Well Friday started out for me with a 6'ish roll out. The skies looked as if it was going to be another hot day with no rain in site. We sure could use a little of the wet stuff as I'm hand watering twice a day especially since I put about 20 or so new lettuce seedlings in the ground. After my quiet time and the posting of this ramble I got ready to pedal out on my bike to the rec for an hour or so of pickle ball.

We had 2 courts and in action with a mixed group of players and I stayed on the court for nearly an hour before finally dropping a game and getting a chance to rest. My shirt was soaked and after I went back in and won another set I decided to call it a day as I still feel the lingering effects of this head and chest congestion. I certainly don't want to wear my resistance down as now both Nancy and I have the same crud. She is on antibiotics for another malady so she seems to be recouping much faster than I.

I stopped off at the library for another Sandra Brown read before pedaling home to work in the garden for an hour or so. Nancy was at her weekly women's Bible study at SFBC so I had the rest of the morning to catch up on some gardening. I picked fresh cilantro and made a guacamole for lunch which is delicious the way I use the avocados and they are a good fat for the body as well. We have really grown to like them and have the dip at least once a week.

I headed into the reading room after lunch and spent the biggest part of the afternoon finishing up a great book titled ENVY by Sandra Brown. What a super story teller she is with plots that become so real that its very difficult to put the book down. I read through O'Reilly and Gold Rush last evening so I could finish the story and find out what happened; it's that good of a read.

Nancy spent the afternoon running her mother GG around to different stores and shopping and so we had no plans for supper which turned out to be just fine. We had a garden salad with some left over smoked chicken on top which was excellent. My lettuces are really starting to produce as well as the kale and beet greens which add so much to a garden salad. Today Saturday we get Annsley and Gabe for the evening and night and then will bring them back to Tampa on Sunday morning for church at Element. We plan to take them shopping for Bobby and then to play putt putt golf so it should be a fun day for all of us. Ava and Sam are tied up with Tyler's sister and dad in town from Kansas so we won't be able to get them together, oh well. LATER
