Monday Morning June 9th

Well Sunday was another beautiful morning with temps in the low 60's with a gentle breeze and its stayed that way all day long with an evening shower thrown in just as we finished supper out on the deck around 7'ish. I had started the day with my usual 5'ish rollout to my routines that begin with some quiet times to honor my lord, Jesus, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name, all seem to be holding with this post. The twins came down shortly and started the day while their mom and dad slept in along with the older sister and brother. I headed out to check on the gardens for any deer damage and either the new animal deflectors worked or none came around. I seem to think maybe they are working and hopefully so the rest of the season.

We headed out to Cornerstone but on the way neighbor Gerald's dog Boo ran out in front of Bobby's vehicle as was nearly run over, so Bobby hand walked him back up the hill and deposit him with Gerald. He had a leash on and at first we thought maybe Gerald was walking him and got attack by a bear and the dog got away, but he answered the door so we all knew everything was fine, except the dog ran away, oh well and Thank God. We made it to church just as the first song was being played and the concert like service was awesome. It had me in tears with a couple of the songs which were all bluegrass gospel type. Afterwards instead of staying for the meal which was burgers and dogs as a youth fund raiser we headed to the Pizzeria for a delicious lunch which held us until 7'ish, when we grilled corn on the cob in the shuck and boneless rib eye's as well as a fresh salad after we got back from a hike to the top of the mountain.

Our hike was something of an obstacle course with several large tree limbs down on our trail up through the back woods, but we managed to remove enough of them to get through but I'll need to bring the chainsaw up later in the week to clear the trail with Bobby's, Gabe and twins help. I did take the twins and Katies to the creek after getting back to the cabin from lunch as Nancy and Bobby needed to shop a little, so they and myself walked in the water which was cold and Katie sat and read. It was hot in the sun but the shade was pleasant and the water on your feet and legs was chilling.

There were golf cart rides in the afternoon and lots of porch time for everyone especially the twins. We even did some shooting with Gabe after the hike and before we fixed supper for about 30 minutes. Gabe did quite well as did Katie and Bobby as I just observed for a change. The meal was excellent and as we sat outside on the picnic tables it was a perfect evening until it started to cloud up and eventually some much needed rain fell. After the cleanup and some showers we watched a documentary film that Katie went to the Czech Republic to film and have produced using their orchestra. I was whupped and after it was over I hit the sack some time before 10. Today Monday we are off to Blowing Rock and Boone for some shopping and lunch out as well as some touristy time at the nice park. It always a fun time to the area and of course there is a Publix there where we always get the few items we can not get here at the Food Lion in Sparta. Bobby and family with then zip line at a new place where the boys can do the event so we will come home and prepare supper for when they arrive, LATER
