Well Wednesday started out on the rather unusual chilly side for this time of the year after having the 80's and higher the past several days. It was 55 degrees and the wind chill made it feel even colder on my bike ride to the Rec at 7:30. It was just breaking daylight. I had started the day with a before 6 roll out to my routines that start with some quiet time to honor my LORD, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name. All seem to be as well as can be expected due to ages and health concerns.
I headed out for two hours of pickle ball play at the Rec and stayed on the court for two hours with out a real break. It was mostly B players with a couple of A's in the mix but the action was constant. It had warmed up a tad by the time I left a little after 10 with a stop at the library on the way home. There was a touch of rain in the area with some sprinkles but nothing major. I didn't hand water until late afternoon. I did notice blooms already on some of the recently planted shrubs and flowering plants. They are a beautiful blue/purple on the iris and a gorgeous yellow/orange flower on the hibiscus. These plants/shrubs are supposed to require less care and are drought resistance since we will be gone and not be there to maintain them throughout the summer months.
Amy, Sam and Eliza came for a lunch of leftover soup on this chilly day and for some fried egg plant which we all love. We knew we wouldn't be eating until late as Amy had invited us for supper which is one of our fav's called sour belly. It's noodles flavored with chicken over smashed taters and it a carb feast but oh so tasty. There is always a second helping with this dish. We stayed and visited until after 8 and then headed home. It soon was shower time for me and then by 10 it was lights out, LATER
