Sunday Morning August 9th

Well Saturday was a mixture of some light work outside in the gardens and yards as well as a hike across the top of the mountain and then a fun evening with friends at the Klutzz (Kimberly) household with her daughter and family as well as a close friend of hers. More on that later. The weather was awesome throughout most of the day with a lite dust settling rain shower but the sun soon came out and dried things off and it was a full moon as we headed home after dark.

I started the day much the usual with a before 6 roll out to my cup of hot tea then some quiet time with my Creator in thanksgiving and lifting up several by name for healing and comfort. All is well as I write that I know of. Nancy awakened some time around 8 ish so I headed out to check on the gardens and pulled some weeds and grasses which have just exploded with growth due to all this rain. Thankfully this type of grass which grows so much is height is easily pulled from the beds. I did a little root cutting that was exposed in the backwoods yards then I noticed a trail in the front yard where these black ants were attacking the spruce tree. Its amazing these ants could make such a trail in the grass with their traveling back and forth from the tree to the outside wooded area. Well I doused the trail with poison and moved a couple of the large border rocks they were going under as well as slathered the poison onto the sappy parts of the spruce. We noticed the tree was looking some what unhealthy and the reason was these black ants were attacking it and using the sap for food much like they had done with the huge oaks in the backwoods yard.

I piddled around outside until it was time to ride to the top of the mountain in the golf cart then make a walk across the top. We stopped and visited briefly with Roddie and Kathy and noticed the new foundation was being formed for the Herrons new cabin. They will have an excellent view. We didn't see anyone else so we headed down the back trail and had a bite of lunch before chilling the rest of the day until it was time to head over to Kimberly's.

Nancy had made a large bowl of fresh salsas and chips which they all love and a batch of cookies. Kimberly had a cheese dip and jalapeno poppers so we all chowed down until it was time to play Sequence. Before we started that raucous game we showed Brandon and Rachel how to play the game Kings on the Corner as they love to play games as well. They don't have any friends their ages who play games. I told Nancy we need to introduce them to Jake and Katelyn so they can get together this winter and play. Anyhow back to the Sequence match; we played the best of 5 and the guys won the rubber game. Needless to say her new friend by the name of Beverly fitted right in with our jawing and poking fun at each other.

We were about to leave, saying our goodbye's when they shut the lights off and out came a birthday cake with candles and they surprised me with the song, a cake, a card and a gift. Wow was I ever surprised and humbled by their thoughtfulness as well as generosity. Well we got back to the cabin some where close to 10'ish and then it was shower time and horizontal lab for me after taking a dose of Eliquis, LATER

If you see the blue dots on the picture we couldn't figure it out but came to the conclusion if was a reflection from the Elvis painting behind me which Kimberly's mom painted using a special paint or whatever it was called.
