Well Monday was another cold morning with temps down below freezing and lots of frost on the vehicle roof tops. The wind wasn't as strong so it felt a little warmer outside and that helped keep the cabin warmer during the night. A few moments before everyone started to awaken I was able to get in a few quiet moments and then the posting of this ramble. I noticed all of the ears of corn in the backwoods yard was gone so I know the deer are in the area. We had a light breakfast of cereal's and I stayed with just fruit as we ate big the day before. I needed to stay away from all of the desserts and my will power kicked in for the day as well with no cookies, brownies, pie or ice cream, yikes all of those are so darn good.
We decided to eat leftovers for supper so we ate large for lunch with salsa, spinach dip and deli meat sandwiches on bakery sourdough and multi-grain breads. Yeow where they ever good and really held us until around 7'ish. Nancy, Betsy and myself took a hike to the top of the mountain just before lunch and the views were fantastic again in the clear cold air. We didn't see anyone on top but did notice some cars at a couple of the summer homes. We came back and the girls all left shortly thereafter for a trip to Sparta to shop around. It was after 6 before they got back to the cabin. I managed to get a few things I wanted to do and then sat in the afternoon sunshine on the deck and read for a couple hours.
We heated up the leftover pot roast and veggies for a light supper. Most of us was still comfortable from the large lunch but we did clean up that delicious meal of leftovers. We got into a rather long game of dominoes which lasted until nearly 10:30 with nancy being the winner on the last round. It was a very competitive game while we listened to various types of music. It was nearly 11'ish by the time I got out of the shower and hit the sack. I could still hear the night gals in the front room talking until nearly 1'ish, oh well. I think the gals are heading to Old Salem for a visit today while I catch up on some chores, LATER
