Well Wednesday was an outside work day for me and while it was another hot and muggy day I really felt like getting this yard/garden project completed before next week when I want to start back on the pickle ball court. The knee held up good all day as I sawed up the rest of the stacked lumber and moved it next door to my neighbor who has a fire pit and then dug up a huge stump that was basically rotten after being under that stack of lumber for about 10 years. The stump was an old ficus tree about three feet across that had gotten way out of control after reaching up into the power lines years ago and I had cut it down. I removed all of the bricks which I had stored there as well.
Well the day started much the usual with a little after 6 roll out. After my usual morning routines which included a few quiet moments with my Creator, my daily personal growth discipline and then the posting of this ramble I grabbed a MacIntosh apple and headed for the back yard and the gardens. I found a rather large tomato on the ground that was starting to turn ripe and a squirrel must have pulled it from the vine. Those dang pesky critters once again have a field day destroying my garden, but since I was outside all day they stayed away and when I do see them its BB gun time and they scatter up into the big oaks and across the power line and into the neighbors big tree.
The 54 Black Seeded Simpson lettuces I transplanted into pots yesterday looked great and actually a couple had put on a third leaf overnight. I've been keeping them in the shade and up on a work table and I will transplant them into the new area I created yesterday in a week or so. I'm hoping to get a little cooler temps for them to do well. The red lettuce seeds have also come up and I want to move them as well into 9 packs in the next day or so. A squirrel must have fallen into my cucumbers vines while exiting the yard and broke off a major vine with lots of blooms. I do have several nubbins starting to mature, but we will see if they make. The green beans will need picking in another couple days and I will post pics when I do.
Amy and all the kiddos came for lunch along with GG so I ate early as they really fill up the kitchen round table. I headed back outside and finally some shade started to cover the area where I was working so I finished up somewhere around 3'ish. Wow was I whipped and sun burned, but it felt good to not notice any discomfort with the knees. I took the hose and did a wash down and cool off as temps were once again in the middle 80's. Nancy had taken GG with her to Sam's to pick up a bone-in pork roast for our family dinner on New Years Day as we once again expect a large gathering of family to celebrate the new year.
I got a call from sisters Josie and Dee that their dad my Paw Paw had suffered some medical condition over night and they had taken him to the Veterans Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va. I spoke with him by phone and he seemed to be in good spirits and said he would be staying for a couple days as they run some tests on this anomaly with his left side of his body. Seems he had severe sweating and pain on that one side only and they weren't sure what was the cause. He is 88 years young and seems in good health. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
Well that was about it except to learn our incompetent potus is throwing us to the radicals especially with Iran as he cares only about his legacy and he in my opinion has a great one for being the worse potus ever in the history of our country and on top of that I think he should be tried for treason and violating our constitution. Why are those who subscribe to this man's treachery not fearful for what is happening to our nation? I just don't understand how we have let him and his cohorts get so much control in the government and the circumventing of our laws that he doesn't like. He and Hillary are the biggest reasons we are in the mess we are in with the Islamist and their radical theocracy. Both of them are such big liars that we have just let them go on and on with their agenda to destroy us from within and now with obvious distain in any attempt to keep us safe from outside our borders. We have given in to Iran who are so bold to chant"death to America" and now we will let them have billions of dollars to spread more terrorists to our shores and develop a nuclear bomb. What has happened to common sense??
We had better get rid of these who have no agenda but to fill their purses with wealth and power and face the consequences of electing dishonorable people to lead us in this government and change that before its too late. I absolutely think that is why Trump is doing so well in the polls and the established leaders in the government are absolutely scared to death that he will clean house of the ineptness of our leaders. While I wouldn't necessarily subscribe to him as our potus I love his message and his boldness to want America to be great again in so many ways and maybe he can give us some brash leadership to clean house and put us back on course to be a beacon of hope for the rest of the world and to make us strong. Teddy Roosevelt in my opinion had it right when he said to "walk tall and carry a big stick". Strength in our military is the only thing these terrorists who want to destroy us understand. You can not reason with unreasonable people and believe me after traveling the world over I know there is no place like America. I just don't understand why our potus doesn't understand that. Really his idea is to make America pay for what his muslim father instilled in him along with his radical mentors and that was America was exploiting other nations during the colonization era and that now we should pay for it. It's straight out of his book and whether you believe he loves our nation just look at how he is destroying the country within and now catering to those who want destroy our way of life, WAKE UP AMERICA, LATER
