Well Wednesday was a day or evening of gastronomic delights as we has the Cool Peoples Club over to celebrate the Botbyl's 43rd anniversary with Mexican ordures', drinks and entrees, yeow what a feast and now I know why you seldom see thin or skinny hombres.
The day started with my usual before 6 roll out to a cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric while I posted this ramble and spent some quiet moments in thanksgiving for all of my blessings and mentioning by name several for comfort, healing and for helping them get closer to GOD. That is our BridgePoint motto and I'm on board. All seem well with those but Nancy is having some eye issues and we aren't sure but suspect she may be allergic to a cosmetic eye liner or the over use of eye drops to take out the redness; anyhow her eyes are very sore and extremely red.
I headed out a little before 8 on my bike to the rec. for two hours of constant pickle ball play with really good players. Wow what a work out and I left with a wet head and shirt. I was down to 183 this AM and I just have three to go until I reach my goal or there about; of course the meal last evening was 5 lbs worth and the delicious lemon chiffon cake was another pound or two; oh well. We started the feast with salsa, layered bean dip, guacamole and a melted cheese dip (con casio)with red peppers and chips while everyone but Kathryn and myself had margaritas; we stuck with cabernet. After a game of Euchre of which the gals came back from a 7-3 lead by the guys to win 10-9, yeow. What a come from behind win. I fired up the grill and roasted sliced red, yellow and green peppers along with sliced onions for our grilled chicken fajitas accompanied by black beans and yellow rice.
While letting the digestive juices work we got into a game of OH -ELL which is another fast moving card game before having a delicious slice of cold lemon chiffon cake. The icing is so mild and just enough lemon flavoring to excite your taste buds that Carol made and brought. Kathryn brought all of the ordures' and we supplied the rest. What a celebration as we made plans for next week's getting together and for some plans this summer while in the mountains. It wasn't long after they left around 8:30 (as the Tracy's had to drive back north for an hour) to their hacienda. We cleaned up the kitchen and soon got ready for bed around 10ish for me.
I did finish up the sod after pickle ball and cut up the huge slabs of sod to replant along the barren side of the house. Hopefully it will now grow since we have lost the shade from the big oak tree and the one in the back has been trimmed to allow in more sunlight, LATER
