Well Wednesday started out beautiful with bright sunshine and clear blue skies and just a touch of spring in the air after the nearly half day of rain on Tuesday; however by the afternoon the skies clouded up and once again we got some rain for a couple hours.
I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and fresh ginger while I posted this ramble then did some quiet time with my Creator in thanksgiving and lifting up several by name. All seem well except for Eddie who is back in the hospital in N.C. he is the paraplegic who suffered an accident and who was standing in the bucket of his tractor while hanging a sign and fell to the ground, breaking his neck in several places. This happened going on three years ago. Everyone else seems to be doing good at this point.
I headed out to the rec. around 9 and got in nearly two hours of pickle ball play with some good players before heading home on my bike to do some "honey-do's" for Nancy. She was entertaining a group of ladies mostly from our church called Soul Sisters who share real life with each others. Most are somewhat younger than we are or me and they get together once a month to share. I piddled around in the garden until the rain came so it was read for a couple hours during the afternoon. She wanted supper out of the way before the 6:30 meeting so I grilled pork chops bone -in around 5ish and then we had our first mess of half runner green beans from the garden and my oh my were they ever delicious with just a little butter. Speaking of the garden I pulled three more rather large 'maters that were starting to turn. It looks as if the bugs haven't noticed this plant or for some reason they are staying away. It's usually one 'mater for every 4 not infested with their larvae. I haven't sprayed them either but so far so good. I may use a little Sevin dust to further inhibit their destruction.
After the cleanup I headed up to neighbor Dan's as Carol was attending the meeting and we watched the news then the Tampa Bay Lightning playing in New York. The meeting broke up at 8:30 so I was called home and finished up the game after a hot shower and they won again in overtime. They set a team record with wins and hopefully will win the Cup in April. They are playing awesome with the best record in all of hockey, LATER
