Sunday Morning

Well Saturday was a fun day of pickle ball in the morning, some packing and then out for Eliza's dance recital and then dinner out with the family. It was also another hot muggy day and one that makes you so excited about leaving the flat land for the high country.

I started the day much the usual with a before 6 roll out to my usual routines that start with a cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and fresh ginger while I post this ramble and the spent some time with my Creator. All seem well as can be expected. I headed out on my bike for 2 plus hours of pickle ball and got in a singles match with our campus pastor at Bridgepoint who is now addicted to the game. He is such an athlete and at the age of 40 he will eventually over take me on the court but yesterday I managed to beat him convincingly. He mentioned to me this morning at the last load in for me before leaving that he was gunning for me and that he would be better in November.

I headed home to hand water the seedlings that I'm taking with me for the summer garden then starting going through some things I will pack later today Sunday. Amy picked us up around 1 and we headed out to the Mahaffey Theatre down town St.Pete for the event. Eliza Faye was so cute in her costume with make up and her hair done up in a bun. She preformed excellent along with 8-to 10 other girls her age in a cute tap dance. She was on stage probably 3 to 5 minutes at most. There were 34 classes before intermission and then another 43 afterwards. We broke around 5 for the first time and the theatre was packed with hundreds of folks.

We headed to the Longhorn Steak House for a delicious supper then walked over to the mall afterwards. That is the first time in this new section for me ever and probably my last as I use to work security at Dillards on the other end of the mall for years. I have lots of good memories and some not quite so nice with the many shoplifters who almost daily hit the store. I certainly do not miss those confrontations.

Well it was my last load in at the college for Bridgepoint Church until next November. I will certainly miss the great camaraderie with those volunteers who weekly arrive before 6 to unload the trailers and set up the college for the church service. It's a great pleasure to serve with so many to help folks get closer to GOD.

Well this will be my last post before the mountains as we leave hopefully around 4 in the early morning hours of Monday. It's a 700 + mile trip and it usually takes us close to 12 hours with the many stops to walk, gas up and buy groceries before heading up the mountain. I need to get there before 5 as to have TV and Internet as I have to reset a circuit breaker in the basement. I will try to get back to this key board on Tuesday some time. Think of us and pray for traveling mercies as well as a safe trip, LATER
