Sunday turned out to be a rather nice day until around 4 PM when a huge weather system moved into the area. We had taken a hike around 3:30 with clear beautiful sunshine skies when suddenly they began to darken. We got caught on top of the mountain in a deluge and was forced to seek shelter at the Browning's house for at least a 1/2 hour more before we could head back down the mountain. The rain let up and the skies cleared out for awhile but shortly thereafter it rained again and forced us to cancel any pickle ball play later that evening.
We headed out for Cornerstone after a lite breakfast of toasted breakfast bread and of course juice and hot drinks. Our attendance down somewhat due to the holiday week-end. Pastor B had a great message and the praise music was awesome and afterwards we headed on back to the cabin for a lunch of fantastic sandwiches complimented by some of Dee's wonderful tomatoes. Wow are they just the best tasting and beautiful to look at as well.
We decided since we had a shower of rain after lunch we would play spades with the guys vs gals. It was a rip snorting game with see saw scores back and forth as we set each other and the big key was my going nil(no bid) twice in the game to 500. At one time the gals were leading 417 to our 162 but because of their bags(under bid and setting us) they were reduced 200 points in the final hand and we won by 5 points. The sun came out shortly thereafter and we hiked to the top and then that's when we got caught in the storm.
I grilled marinated chicken breasts and we finished the yellow squash casserole along with the garden salad for supper and then the last of the delicious cheesecake around 8:30. We played games until after 11 then headed for the sack, LATER
