Saturday Morning

Well Friday saw us with the coldest morning thus far this winter. I did cover my tomato plants but according to the neighbor who has an outside thermometer it never got below or even to the freezing mark. The local station had us at 36 degrees and the wind kept any frost away but did make it feel even colder with the wind chill. We had to be at Ava and Sam's school by 8:15 for grandparents day so every routine except for a few quiet minutes were disrupted. The sun was shining brightly so I uncovered my tomato's and they looked fine except for where the blankets smashed them down.

We headed out a little after 8 and the walk to the chapel area of the school was a cold one and the inside of the building was cold as well. Luckily we had coats to keep us warm and there was plenty of hot coffee and doughnuts but we passed on both. There was a nice program that honored us(grandparents) and we went back to Ava's classroom where she entertained us after the program. They had games, pictures taken with us in costume characters and a snack of which Ava served us. It was a grand time and her teacher is very nice and seems to be very loving of all of her pupils. We then took Ava with us back to the chapel where the pre-kindergarten classes would then entertain us as well. Little Sam was so cute with his class and then we went back to his class to meet his teachers and then we took both of them with us to our place for lunch. Amy picked up GG and they came for tortilla soup which was perfect on this cold windy day.

Nancy made peanut butter cookies for the kiddos and enough to share with the neighbors as well as lots to take home for the Ross Family. I passed once again but it was difficult to do as they smelled so good right from the oven. We took GG shopping with us as we made a stop at Aldi's then to Sams Club. Gas prices are on the rise once again as it up 20 cents a gallon in the last week. We spoke with our "mountain mom" and its brutally cold and nasty in the mountains. Never before has she seen it this cold and the constant temps below zero. Where are all the "worst enemy facing us is global warming" crowd in the government. I think some one needs to pull their head out of their rectums and screw it on right as we are facing a holy war with radical Islamist who are killing innocent Christians and Jews. Our potus is such sympathizer to their cause that he makes me believe he one of them.

Well I grilled a couple Italian sausages and Nancy sauteed fresh broccoli and mushrooms for supper and after the cleanup we settled into the disheartening news of our less than stellar leaders. We now after so much public pressure to confront Isis have given them our plans and time table to take back some of the territory we let them have when we failed to leave troops in the region after securing Irag. This lack of leadership is so evident that I'm thinking how can even those who voted for this community organizer still be in favor of his incompetence as a commander-in chief. Many of the major news outlets except for Fox still promote this lack of leadership and make excuses for his blunders. I really think they are caught up in remaking America culturally. I was encouraged by those in attendance today at school of those who still love GOD, country and family. Many of us there were old school Americans who fought to make the world a better place for all and not for some ideology that if you don't subscribe to my way of thinking I will cut your head off or burn you alive, Wake Up America before we are too late to preserve this last bastion of freedom and to send these who want to lead US(A)down the road of destruction to their final resting place with 39 virgins in hell, LATER
