Well Thursday morning after an all night rain turned out to be nice with much warmer temps and eventually lots of sunshine and blue skies. I actually just wore a t-shirt for most of the afternoon and evening after a chilly start to the day which so reminded me of a spring morning. It turned out to be mostly a fun day as the gals headed to Sparta to fram around, Steve worked on his channeling as did I and Dan and James watched some video. I spent the day outside and then we got into some corn hole for both us guys and the gals did throw a few bags as well.
I had the smoker going with two racks of baby back ribs as well as a pot of collard greens and a pot of October cooking through out the day, yeow what a feast with some garden salad and cornbread that made up our supper and then it was games of Spades and Sequence afterwards. What a fun day after my usual start when everyone else was still in the sack. I did my usual after posting the blog and some quiet time finishing up with a solo hike to the top of the mountain which was fogged in after the inch and half of rain over night. The ground soon dried out with a stiff breeze which brought in some nice temps. It was a perfect afternoon as most of us sat on the porches or rocking chairs soaking up the sunshine.
Today we head down to Mt. Airy for the Fall Festival of Leaves where the whole town shuts down with tons of vendors. It will be the first time for the Nymark's and the Martello's as we do this every year with the Botbyl's. It should be great weather and the trip down off the mountain will be great with all of the leaf colors. We will eat at SOHO's in Mt Airy as they usually have great food, LATER
