Well Thursday morning started out with us seeing our house guests and dear friends off around 8:30. We were up by 7 ish after a sleep in for a change. They were heading over to Pigeon Forge area to see an old family friend before making the trip back to Seminole today Friday.
I started the day after they left with my blog then helped Nancy clean the cabin once again with vacuuming both the up and down stair floors. She cleaned the bathrooms and refilled the paper products for the both bathrooms when she noticed some water on those products in a corner of the basement where water shouldn't be. I investigated and noticed the insulation around the large drain pipe and floor area it protruded from had some dampness and evident of water. At first I thought maybe the earthquake had cracked the pan in the new shower floor in the upstairs bathroom as both of our guests showered this morning but after further testing of filling the shower with water and flushing the commodes there was no evident of a leak or moisture on the drain pipe.
We got a downpour around 5'ish so I headed down to the basement and checked the pipe area and sure enough there was wetness coming down the pipe, so that made it a roof leak. The leak must have just started because the wood around the pipe is almost new with no rot and the insulation isn't rotted either. I know metal moves with the heat and cold and those cold morning must have caused the roof to open up a small crack where I had replaced the roof years ago when the ice and snow caused a drain vent to break off. Myself and Andy had replaced the sheet of the tin roof that had a large rip in it and it seems now it needs replacing the correct way by a roofer, oh well. It's amazing with all that rain a week or so ago it never leaked until a day or so ago as we never saw any evident of water in that area until yesterday, oh well.
We did get in a morning hike to the top of the mountain for our daily hike and we stopped and chatted with Ben and Laura and their neighbor Billy for a few. Everyone else was either gone or closed in as the views were somewhat cloudy. We headed back down and had a bite of leftovers for lunch and then leftovers for our supper. It sure was quiet around the cabin with no one but ourselves after having guests for nearly 8 days. After supper we settled in to the Fox News channel for a change and then watch our Potus in Michigan rallying those Americans who still love this nation and want him for 4 more years. I love his desire to save this nation from the socialist, the foreign enemies of this land, the democrat party and the radicals they support who are destroying our cities and committing violence against our police, our citizens who oppose their ideology by burning, looting and rioting. We who love this nation, our culture and heritage are fed up with these thugs who maim and kill and spread terror to get their way. It's time we took up arms against them.
A friend posted there was some disrespect to the anthem and flag by the players for the opening night of the NFL. I didn't even turn the channel to see their disrespect. I'm over these high paid thugs who hate this nation with their political actions when they should just play ball. I could care less about them and their cause of disrespect. It wasn't long after a hot shower I was ready for some horizontal lab by 10'ish, LATER
