Well things are shaping up around the cabin as Nancy has the inside looking great and I've got the yards and gardens close to show case ready with all the mowing done for now and we both worked a couple of her flower beds yesterday as well. I'll say one thing these beds and garden patches grow the best grass ever; I just wish it would grow that well in some areas in the back woods yards but with 10 trees taken down over the winter that should not be a problem with the added sunlight. I already see where the moss is turning brown which is what I was trying to accomplish.
I started the day much the usual with a well before 6 rollout to my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric while I posted this ramble and gave thanks to my Creator for my many blessings and the lifting up of several by name for healing and comfort. All seem as well as can be expected Praise GOD. I headed out after my breakfast of fruit to check on the gardens and a dang deer wondered through one patch over night. There wasn't much for it to eat but the hoof prints took out a couple seedlings, oh well. That tells me I'm back into nature. I had to knock down a birds nest that took up to building one on the second floor area and while there were no little babies I do believe she was laying eggs. They are the messy and dirty with poop everywhere and I hated to destroy the nest but the woods are everywhere for nesting.
I rotor tilled the upper garden patch and got it ready to transplant the rest of the seedlings that made it from the hot ride up from Florida. I do believe the jalapeno pepper will make it which it is loaded with blooms and little peppers. I try to eat at least one every day or thereabouts. I sowed some radish seeds into the ground and then some lettuce seeds into pots to be transplanted when they mature. The ground looks great for growing veggies as I added some compost from my pile.
I sprayed some roundup along the rocks that separate the walk ways which also has a tendency to grow great grass. We even took a mid morning hike to the top of the mountain and visited with Ben and Laura who bought the Cline House. They looked great and are probably 10 years or so our senior. We headed on across the top and saw a new couple who are a couple years older than me also on a morning hike. They just purchased an empty lot on top of the mountain thats been for sale for years. We thought it was over priced for a partial acre at over 50 grand but they bought it and are now having a house built on it. Their daughter and family purchased Norman's old place and they just love it here as well. They are from the middle of the state near Raleigh, nice folks Lanny and Dorothy Herron.
Nancy fixed a nice meatloaf for supper which will give plenty of lunch foods for the next couple of days as we love cold sandwiches. We are trying to cut out the major carbs from our diet as she needs to lose a couple pounds. I'm holding around 185 but would also like to drop a pound or two. You would think being so active and working from sunup to sundown I would be a stick. I'n slowly getting my back my mountain legs as there is nothing flat here except being inside the cabin.
Well I haven't watched one TV show thus far as it shower time around 9ish which now is when its getting too dark to work outside. The weather the past couple days is perfect with cool and even a cold morning and the afternoons in the upper 70's. There was a nice breeze yesterday when it got a little warm outside so we took a golf cart ride to the mailbox and then stopped and visited with the Redmans who come up from down off the mountain and have a cabin not far from us on the road in. They caught us up on all the happenings with folks who we know as well.
I hit the sack after checking the internet. It's a dang shame the way the dems and the MSM are promoting this out of control violence related to the Floyd murder by a renegade police officer in Minnesota. They have tried everything to destroy Trump by destroying the nation which he serves so earnestly and without any pay. Its criminal to what the radicals paid by Soros and hollywood are doing to destroy our culture and economy of so many Americans, LATER
