Friday Morning Aug 1st

Well Thursday was a busy day with some heavy rains again as well as during the night when over 2 inches fell and then again another half inch later in the day; so we should be wet enough for several days and now there is some cooler temps coming which will be welcomed after these 80's+ days. The grass and gardens are loving this weather and I once again piddled around in both during the morning hours; but more on that later in this ramble.

I started the day early due to Nancy's incessant snoring with a before 6 rollout to my usual routines that begin with some quiet times to honor my lord, Jesus, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name for comfort and healing. All seem to be holding with this post. I headed out to check on the gardens after spending a few moments on the back porch stretching this old body before heading out. It was a very wet morning, so of course I wear my gum boots every morning because of the dew but this morning it was very wet. I did notice where the down pour washed out a small section of the backwoods garden patch as the water drains down off that hill towards that patch and I lost a few radishes, but everything else held in the patches.

I harvested several squashes, cherry tomato's and cucumbers and gave neighbor Gerald who was up for the day scraping the driveway which had washed over night with that down pour. Thankfully he likes taking care of the driveway and he and his tractor is a huge blessing to me as I use to use a rake and hoe to keep it passable. I did some weeding in some of the flower beds working up a sweat and then we took a hike up the step backwoods trail to the top and visited with Billy a few before the rain clouds moved in with some thunder. We headed back down to the cabin and made it with time to spare before the clouds opened up and another heavy rain hit us. Billy invited us to a "pig pick'en" the end of this month at his place and everyone bring a dish.

Well I watched some baseball until it got rained out in N.Y. and after the game restarted the Ray's lost again. Their playoff hopes are slipping away with poor pitching once again and now they are out of the wild card slot, but there is still time as the season has a few more months. I checked up on the world news and Israel is still taking it to the barbarians in Gaza and to the terrorists supported by Iran. Our awesome POTUS Trump is still working on MAGA with trade deals and helping to stop wars in the world. The dem's are being exposed for treason by the elites in the party and I'm sure hoping they are all indicted and eventually hung or imprisoned. Its about time the "deep state" is held accountable and heads roll, oh well.

We headed out to Sparta before 6 to Walgreens for Nancy's meds and then to Food Lion for a few items before meeting up with our couples class at 7 PM. There were 7 of us as many were on vacation or under the weather. We got back at the cabin as darkness fell and saw many deer both alive and dead along side the roads and thankfully none jumped out in the road in front of us. I almost hate to drive here after dark as there are many out and about. I checked on some emails then hit the shower and in the horizontal position by 10'ish or thereafter, LATER
