Well Friday was a work day for me as the knee is finally responding and healing. I never gave it much of a thought as I piddled our the house and gardens. Nancy was off to her weekly Friday Bible study and then picked up GG from her hair appointment so I pretty much spent the morning and afternoon alone. I did keep the squirrels out of my garden and they had a fit as every time I would leave the back yard they would head down from the trees. So I kept the BB gun handy and chased them away. I even got lucky and nailed one who did a complete flip in the air before scampering up the tree. They are so destructive as they constantly dig and bury acorns uprooting my small seedlings. I've already lost a half dozen young lettuces and kale plants as well as several beans seedlings, oh well!!!
The day started much the usual with a 6'ish roll out and then my few quiet moments to give thanks for another day and my cup of hot green tea with some fresh ginger and the spice turmeric. I've become quite use to the taste and now look forward to the concoction. I'm hoping it will continue to help with the healing of the knee and joints. I sure miss my cardio workout on the pickle ball court but today I think I will get on the bike for a short ride and see how that does. The weather has been fantastic in the morning hours with the low 60's until late afternoon when it reaches the upper 70's, so the a/c is back on overnight.
I defrosted the old stand up freezer in the garage which is 40 plus years old and then gave the outside of it a coat of paint as it was showing some rust stains. It has been a good freezer from Sears but it does require hand defrosting from time to time. That kept me busy for most of the morning. I got out a load of laundry on the clothesline as well as hand watered the gardens and chased squirrels away, so I stayed busy.
We were watching the Ross grand kiddos for the evening so I grilled drumsticks for supper along with tater tots which all of them like and the older two ate raw green beans and Brussel sprouts. Eliza ate the cooked green beans and really did a number on her chicken as well. Nancy gave them all a couple buckeye cookies and then after their baths I popped them corn while they watched a movie. It was going on 11 before Amy and Tyler got back from a deacon function and then some Christmas shopping. All of the older kiddos were asleep around 10'ish but Eliza was wide awake and when I checked on the lot in the front room I mentioned are all of them asleep and she pipped up she wasn't asleep. She is so cute and so smart.
Well that was about it for the day as after my shower I watched a little of the Gold Rush show after the News on FOX while Nancy and kiddos watched the movie, LATER
