Tuesday Afternoon August 13th

Well we are back on the mountain after an 8:30 AM departure from beautiful Woodstock, Va. The trip was uneventful except we did run into a light rain for most of the first couple hundred miles. We were hoping the rain made it down as far as our mountain but it was dry, so I immediately gave the garden and potted plants a drink with the hose. It's now clouded up with some thunder booming and a few rain drops on the tin roof but let's hope we get more than what is now falling.

Monday was a fund day filled with once again some fine Virginia eatin' by sister Dee as she stuffed peppers from her garden. We did a little sight seeing in the afternoon and ran a few errands before supper then took a nice walk through the 'hood with Bonnie their pooch. She is a Jack Russel terrier and full of energy at the old age of 10 plus. We got into a card game of Spades and sister Dee and I wiped the floor with Nancy and Mike. It's usually guys vs gals but for some reason we paired up with blood vs in laws for a change.

I picked some home grown maters', jalapeno and chili peppers from their garden to bring with us as they leave on Saturday for two weeks and the garden will not survive with out some care. We played a couple games of Kings on the Corner before I hit the showers and then some horizontal lab, LATER

This is their view from our hike surrounded on both sides with the blue ridge mountains.
