Well we as a nation certainly have a lot to be thankful for as we celebrate this national holiday especially since we have a real president who cares about the nation. Thank GOD for his election.
Well Tuesday was a fun day but another rather hot and muggy one as well. The new a/c is working perfectly and keeping us comfortable and one would never hear it running. The day started out much the usual with my before 6 roll out to my routines of handful of Nutrilite Vitamins and Supplements distributed only by Amway of which I'm an IBO(independent business operator) washed down with a cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and a slice of fresh raw ginger root. Yeow a combo to get the body up and running for the day. I spent some quiet time in thanksgiving to my Creator as well as mentioned several by name for comfort and healing in their time of need. All is well with most but age seems to the biggest common factor for most of those I daily lift up. I headed out to check on the gardens before Nancy got up to start the day. She is still medicating for the poison rash but does seem to be a little better or she is acclimating to it and the steroid.
I fired up the grill and cooked our breakfast outside that started with some thick sliced hickory smoked bacon and then fried a couple eggs in the grease. I did drain them on a paper towel while Nancy cooked some grits and we had a "mountain breakfast that held us basically until supper around 5 except for a couple of peanut butter and crackers. We picked up some rib eye steaks the other day and I read where they should be pan fried in butter instead of grilled and they were right. We had one along with an ear of fresh bicolor corn on the cob for our supper which was the best steak ever. Even the fat was tasty and at medium rare(very pink) the meat melted in your mouth after cutting it with a fork, Delicious. I was playing pickle ball at 6'ish so we ate early.
We had to go to town to Walgreens in Sparta to pick up another dose of steroids as the doctor called in more scripts for her and then we made a couple stops while in town. We needed more fresh green beans and bacon as we are getting ready for company today for the 4th and then again this Friday for a couple of days. We are stocked up for now but need to make a Galax run tomorrow for more essentials according to Nancy. I want to bleach the mildew starting next week from the sides of the cabin and then give it a new coat of stain in the next coming weeks when we have a break from company.
Well that was about it except I blessed a newly married young couple with the largest of the window a/c units as their house is without any a/c and she blessed us with fresh range brown chicken eggs. We have known her since she was in high school and is now working along with her husband as a paramedic down off the mountain. She got married at Cornerstone a few months back and we have grown to know and love her and her mom over the years.
I sweated about 5 pounds off at the club last evening with just 4 of us pickle ball players for two hours in this heat. Everyone had a soaked shirt. On the way home after playing I noticed several deer out feeding in the fields and one large buck with mossy antlers crossed the road in front of me just as dusk approached, LATER
