Saturday Morning

Well Friday saw us with some much needed rain, actually it down poured at times especially when we headed out around 8:30 for Sam's Christmas program at his school. It was some much needed rain but with it came some very strong winds and the temps fell dramatically 15-20 degrees in just moments. It was actually a bit chilly when we headed out to the Tracy's around 6 PM for supper with the Botbyl's on board.

The day started early for me as the rain pounded on the roof during the early morning hours. I never really got back to a deep sleep until it was time to roll out and start the day at a little before 6. The rain had stopped just about sunrise but the clouds were angry looking and the wind had picked up as well. We did our morning routines and knew we had to hurry as our grandson Sam was having the school Christmas program at Keswick at 8:30. He was so cute as he sang and did lots of movements with his hands and arms and the pre-K through 2nd grade acted out a play about the birth of Jesus.

We got back from the play around 9:30 so Nancy dropped me off and then headed to her Friday morning Bible study class at SFBC. Afterwards she picked up her mom, GG and they headed out to do some shopping and then had lunch at Chili's. I stayed home and polyurethaned the kitchen table and then read until she got back sometime in the afternoon. I did give out two more batches of cookies to our regular mail man and then watched for the garbage men to give them a bunch as well. They were different from last years men and were surprised when I presented with the box of goodies.

I knew we were eating Kathryn's gourmet lasagna for supper so I ate very light for lunch with just a peanut butter rollup and the last of the cinnamon and sugar coated pecans. They are so addicting and like potato chips its difficult to eat just one. Well they are finally gone as Eliza Faye and I have been eating them all week and she called them candy. They are sweet and delicious but oh so fattening. I didn't have to water the gardens today as we finally got a nice drenching rain. There was lots of water running down the street from the down pour but hopefully some sunk into the ground. The temps have really dropped and some were calling for the 40's overnight. We could smell smoke from someones fireplace as we got home around 10 last night.

Well the supper was delicious at the Tracy's, Carol brought appetizers and Nancy a fresh garden salad and they all had strawberry shortcake for dessert. I passed as I'm not doing any physical workout because of the knees so I'm being very careful on the calorie intake especially with all of the fine eatin' going on this weekend and with Christmas less than a week away.

I was greatly disturbed to learn a high school in Minnesota promoted the singing of Muslim songs associated with the Ramadan holiday during a Christmas program. The school promoted the singing of Allah Hakbar which the jihadist cry out when killing innocents in terrorist attacks. How and why have we let this form of thinking become so pervasive in our land and I think we all know the reason. Our potus is sympathetic to them and is probably a Muslim as well. The Christian beliefs are being destroyed by those who have gotten power and influence through this administration.  I see in Dearborn Michigan the Muslims are rioting against Christians pelting them with rocks, bottles and cans and they have just about taken over the local government.

We are now removing monuments of our Confederate linage to appease those who complain; thus wiping out our roots and changing what was once a big part of our history. The Russians did that with Lenin and we saw that occurring in Germany with Hitler and with the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia. Just wiping out all remnants of their past. We who have lived by the Judeo-Christian principles and mores are becoming a thing in the past and I fear for what may happen with our grand children with this influx of immigrants who we know are from a Muslim nation. We have allowed this to happen because we never fully vetted this potus and those who are his advisors. The "fox is in the chicken house" so to speak and life with never be the same if we don't band together to change the direction we are headed for in this next election cycle, LATER

Just an update on Keith our brother in law who had open heart surgery yesterday. Pat his wife and my middle sister gave us several updates as the day progressed and he was doing better than expected after the surgery. Thanks to all who kept him in your thoughts and prayers!!!

Just a few pictures of our pre-K grandson, Sam at Keswick Christian School.
