Well just 30 more days until this year is gone, wow. Its hard to believe how fast this year has gone but as always we are looking forward to the holidays with family and friends and of once again coming back to the mountains in about 6 months or so. November just flew by and we checked the calendar for next week and it seems we are doing something almost every night. Ava has basketball games a couple nights a week and now there are Christmas get togethers with church folks, etc. This is a glorious time of the year as we begin to celebrate the reason for the season; the birth of our Savior, Jesus.
I started the day with a much before 6 rollout to my routines that start with the cup of tea while I post this ramble and then spend some quiet time with my Creator and Lord in thanksgiving and lifting several up by name. All are holding despite some issues which we all have. The day started out a bit chilly but quickly warmed up as the morning wore on and by the time I got home from the Rec after 2 hours of pickle ball and a stop at the library it was short sleeve and shorts temps.
I puttered around in the yards and gardens loosening the soil around some of the larger veggies, pulling some weeds and hand watering. It seems my pump has fixed itself after a few modifications and is now holding its prime, thankfully. I think the check valve had some dirt keeping it open enough to drain down after being used but now it's holding once again which is a blessing. I have a good flow of water and I'm letting it run for a couple hours at a time as the yards are parched. It's the dry season here in Florida.
I transplanted another two hills of cucumbers that I had started from seeds and I noticed radishes showing some green which I had sowed on Saturday afternoon. Most all of these last transplants are doing well and the beans are really adding leaves. I'll soon have them climbing on back fence where I have attached chicken wire for them to climb on. We had some leftover smashed taters so Nancy made them into potato cakes which are delicious along with fresh asparagus for our supper and I had a leftover salmon sandwich for lunch, delicious as well with a slice of sweet onion and mayo.
Well I wasn't able to get the Lightning game on TV but did keep up with the score and when I turned the lights out at 10 they were up by one but I see where they lost in a shootout, oh well. The Bucs are leading their division and should make the playoffs but I'm not convinced they are the team they were last year, LATER
