Well Sunday was just such a gorgeous day after the nice rain we had the past couple days. The temps stayed well below normal and no humidity with bright blue skies. It was just fantastic. Sunday was also corporate worship day with our mountain church family at Cornerstone. We had an awesome speaker from the Gideon Ministry whose life was clearly changed by the small testament he found that had been placed by a Gideon in Philadelphia. Amazing testimony we heard.
The day started with a 7'ish roll out for us after the Saturday Evening dinner. We did our usual morning routine(s) then got ready for church. The skies were so blue and we could see the sunlight peeping through the tree tops that surround the cabin. It was really damp and quite chilly outside with temps in the 50's but the fact to sun was shinning brightly not only warmed the outside air but also our spirits. After the service we headed to the local Mexican eatery for lunch which was delicious as well with the Dalton Gang, Katelyn and her beau Curtis. We stopped by the grocery for few items we needed for supper at the Dalton Farm later in the evening after eating and before heading back out to the cabin.
We made a stop at our "mountain moms" beautiful cabin for a visit. It was just beautiful as we sat on her front porch and gazed out across the mountains and corn fields. Such a lovely setting and the air was just so comfortable. We headed out after a while and sat on our deck at the cabin reading for the next couple hours in between talking with the family back in Florida. Little Eliza Faye is now saying "moma and dada" and we could hear her noises in the back ground. They put up a video of her and we just wanted to squeeze her through the laptop. I picked some kale and beet greens for the salad we were taking to the Dalton's for supper. Mechelle grilled home grown steaks and had baked spuds along with the salad and zucchini bread from Kay's oven, Delicious!!
Afterwards we all headed down to the barn area to see the new retired thoroughbred racing horse which they are boarding for a relative. Elvira is her name and is she ever a beauty for 9 years old. Gerald, Mechelle's dad has some beautiful black Angus cattle as well as several alpaca's and other show horses. I gathered some hay dropping from the feeder to use for cover when I next sow grass seed from the last stump I burn out. We headed back to the house for some games.
The boys finally won at Sequence for the first time this year in a fifth and rubber game. Kallie made the difference as we talked her into playing with us boys. The gals were squawking because of her turncoat but at least we have the bragging rights for now. We then got into a 5 person game of Balderdash and Nancy smoked us with Kay a close second. It was nearly 10 PM before we headed for the cabin. It wasn't long after a few minutes with a Sandra Brown book I felt the call of the sandman, LATER
