Well Sunday was a great day of worship both on line and then at our local church in Sparta and lunch out once again at the local Mexican eatery with the Frankis Family and then in the afternoon we made a visit to a neighbor for some front porch sitting and talking. It did get rather warm in the afternoon after a beautiful morning with mild temps and very little humidity.
I started the day with my usual before 5'ish rollout to my routines that begin with some quiet times to honor my lord, Jesus, give thanks for another day and then to lift up several by name for comfort and healing. All seem to be holding as we've heard nothing to the contrary. I ventured out after posting this ramble to stretch on the back porch before walking around the yards and checking on the veggie and flower gardens. Everything looked good despite seeing a full grown deer in the backwoods that was walking around. I didn't notice any tracks in the gardens so just maybe those devices that are solar powered and motion detectors that send out a high pitch sound and a light are working. I sure hope so as the garden is just about in full bloom with the squash, peppers, tomato's and cucumbers all showing blooms which hopefully will produce some fruit. The lettuces are looking good as well as are the two kale plants and the 5 Swiss chards plants. The recently sowed lettuce seeds didn't germinate nor did the morning glory seeds, oh well.
We headed to church around 9:30 and saw some folks we hadn't seen in 7 months or more and heard a good message from Pastor B on the great flood with Noah and the building of the Ark. There was a short video on the Ark Encounter and it showed the size and depth of this vessel which saved him and family as well as several of the animal kingdom. There is physical evidence of the massive wooden structure found in Turkey which is where the Bible mentions it came to rest. Very intriguing as well. Afterwards we headed out to the Pizzeria but the wait was 30 minutes for a table so we headed out to the Mexican eatery once again where there was no wait for a table to sit the 7 of us. The salsa and chips are a meal in and of themselves and the combo I had of enchiladas, rice and beans and salad held me the rest of the day and evening except for a glass of vino around 7.
We did take a golf cart ride to the top of the mountain and spoke with Billy for a few before coming back down the golf cart trail to the cabin. We wondered around outside checking on the gardens as the evening shade made it comfortable but the a/c was on in the cabin and stayed on until this morning when I open the window behind me as I post this blog. Today Monday we head to Galax, Va. for some shopping at Lowes, Harbor Freight and of course Wal-Mart before heading back to the cabin and then back out to church for our Monday evening mens Bible class. The temps are supposed to be well above average for this week as well and no rain so maybe I'll need to give the gardens a drink this morning before we head out, LATER
