Well we made it safely and uneventful up the valley to Winchester, Va. and spent the afternoon with Paw Paw at the Evergreen Rehab Facility which is very nice. The ride up found us traveling through the back roads through Floyd and eventually to Christiansburg where we picked up I-81 for the last segment of our trip. We left Winchester around 5:30 and headed down to Woodstock where we met up with younger sister Dee and hubby Mike and had a delicious supper before turning in sometime around 10'ish.
We will head back up the valley again this morning and meet with some health care counselors to discuss what needs to be done in regards to Paw Paw's immediate and long range planning concerns. Afterwards we will head over to his house in town and do some errands such as mowing and winterizing his house for him before heading back to Dee's and then back to the cabin on Thursday morning. This will be a whirlwind trip as we have family coming down next week from the Lancaster area for a couple of days and then we will start getting the cabin ready for the long winter as well.
It was a cold morning at the cabin in the high 30's when we left and now here in the valley it was a cold morning as well with temps in the low 40's. We did see a couple of hot air balloon's on the horizon as we headed down to Dee's. Their beautiful colors where evident against the back drop of the blue mountains and the green fields, LATER
