Well Tuesday was a fun filled day as we entertained an old dear friend and her two daughtersand their families. We ate, played and then I took one son in law, Yamani with me to the pickle ball court and he played quite well for the first time ever of hearing about the sport or game called pickle ball. They stayed and visited until after 9'ish. Daisy has a couple acres she purchased just down the hill from our place but health issues have kept her from even seeing the property for several years and this is the first her daughters have ever seen the wooded land and the first we have seen any of her grand children except for Bree( Brianna) the oldest who is now 14 when she was just a baby, Wow where did that time go??
I started the day with my usual wake up around 6 then after my routines and a few quiet moments I headed out to check on the gardens. I've noticed lots of deer scat and hood prints around the backwoods yards but so far they have stayed away from the veggies. A few cone flowers have been eaten off but nothing real drastic so far except for the recently transplanted berry bushes which they have kept pruned. I headed down to the basement to work on the small leaky water tank on the commode. I keep it shut off unless we have company but decided to ascertain what or why I had the drip from the tank. Well I first thought I needed a new flow valve but then decided the rubber bushing wasn't seated properly after taking it apart several times, hopefully that has taken care of the problem as the drip stopped.
Nancy was busy in the kitchen as she chopped food for tacos along with re-fried beans and yellow rice as well as fresh salsa that we had for supper. That kept her busy for most of the morning and we never got a hike in together. She did walk down with Daisy to see her land and back up the hill with the kids while Daisy rode the golf cart. The young girls had a great time as they were driving the golf cart around and giving the younger kids rides up and down the driveway. I took the older kids and daughters on a hike to the top of the mountains so we could take some pictures of the view in the back ground. We played croquet, rope with a ball toss and corn hole as well as they played badminton while Yamani and I took around 6 to play pickle ball with 5 other players. We played for an hour and a half then turned it over to the other guys and left with a wet shirt.
The supper was delicious and we have enough leftover for another meal or two despite watching these girls eat as all three are athletes. They are very talented and are just great kids as are the two grandsons. The boys are very active as well and played great with their cousins. Well after they left for the Bald Knob Farm House we straightened up and vacuumed and washed up the last of the dirty dishes and I soon hit the shower and a few chapters before is was lights out for me at 10:30. What a busy activity day as we really enjoyed Daisy and her two girls Nikki and Courtney and their families. Nikki and Courtney had been here as young girls before either were married or thought about marrying as they are close to Bobby and Amy in age. We all went to church together in Seminole for several years and they were like family before leaving the area. After marrying Nikki and her family moved to Wesley Chapel and Courtney and husband moved to Haymarket, Va. which is close to the Winchester area where I grew up, LATER here are a few pics from day past as we now have the Picasa app back on line.
