Tuesday Morning Oct 6th

Well Monday started out chilly but quickly warmed up to the low 60's for the day with bright sunshine. I actually worn a tee shirt and shorts for most of the day except the early morning hours. We stayed around the cabin and I was able to catch up on a couple of chores that I usually do to winterize the cabin before we leave in about 3 weeks.

I started the day with a 7'ish roll out as our guests stayed in the sack so I did my usual morning routines that start with the cup of hot tea while I post this ramble and then my quiet time to honor my Creator and lift up several by name. This past couple of weeks have been tough on my 1964 graduating classmates as we've had 3 to pass away and several more suffering from severe health issues. Yikes, 2020 has been a tough year all around for the nation and so many individuals. On a good note our Potus Trump is recovering from the virus and is back to work for US(A) and is showing the nation that we will beat this virus and not to let it ruin or run your life; and he is in that age group who are most susceptible as am I.

We had huge breakfast of bacon, eggs, biscuits and of course I added a jalapeno and sliced tomato to mine which held me until supper time. It was clean out the leftovers from the fridge for supper and we had quite a few with many still yet to be eaten from all of our meals the past several days. I headed out for a solo hike to the top after digesting then got the leaf blower out and cleaned off the deck and took up the two picnic tables and stored them on the back porch. I gave the outside uncovered deck a coat of weatherproofing with a roller which took me a couple hours.

I headed down to the driveway and once away racked away some of the loose gravel buildup that causing the truck to lose traction coming up the drive. It's getting to be just about right now since we put a load of clean stone on it a couple weeks back. The gals took off on a golf cart ride so I took down my stakes in the garden and cleaned out the tomato plants that were through producing for the year. I did find a dozen or so that may ripen later on; despite how bad they look from all the rain they taste rather good. I talked Nancy and Dan into a hike to the top around 4'ish and it was such a beautiful hike. We didn't see anyone on top but the men working on the new building site and they were framing the inside of the house. It was a great hike with warm temps into the low 60's.

Well after each man for himself on the leftovers for supper we got into a game of spades and despite it taking a couple hours to play the gals won, finally. We thought the Ray's baseball game would be on TV for the divisional playoffs but no. I did pull it up on their website and they were losing when I shut the lights off at 11'ish to the dreaded Yankees, Oh well.

The Fall daisy's are blooming and the gals are doing what they do best; pressing pants on the porch and taking selfies. Everyone thinks Nancy and Carol are twins. Notice Dan has shorts on as did I and the gals have sweats and jackets.
