Sunday Morning June 8th

Well Saturday started out with a sleep in until nearly 6'ish which after a late night of visiting and game playing with our son's family was fun. The day was even busier as we had dear friends from over 30 years or more visit for several hours and who also worked for Bobby at Offerpad.  The weather held but at times was on the warm side until late evening when we were all in Sparta for Music on the Main when the skies opened up and we all got a little wet. We came back and after some of us showered Bobby popped some corn and we adults played the best of 7 in Sequence. The gals won, oh well. More on the days activities in this post.

The day was a busy one after I did my morning routines as everyone else was still in the sack, so I did my quiet time to honor my lord, Jesus, give thanks for another day and to lift several up by name for comfort and healing, all seem to be holding. I headed out to check on the gardens and flower beds and noticed more flower seeds have sprouted and the beds are showing some colors. The garden is holding and adding new growth to most every plant. I received my electronic animal deflectors which are motion detected and send out a sharp bright light as well as a high pitch sound which is supposed to scare animals away as I had another deer walk through the garden over night.

Well the fun began after a breakfast of bacon and pancakes as the twins ran and played outside until DJ and Jenny arrived around 10'ish. We loaded up the golf cart with targets, guns and ammo and headed out to the back woods where we went through a couple hundred rounds and even had the twins shooting my old time 22 rifle that we used on the farm back when I was a kid for the first time as we introduced them to real guns. They loved shooting the BB gun but now graduated to the rifle. I shot several rounds through my new .357 magnum pistol and Katie shot several rounds through all of the guns. We stopped for a lunch of burgers and dogs on the grill along with chips. We sat outside on the deck for lunch and then visited for an hour or more. While DJ and Bobby had cigars I took the twin down to the creek so they could sail their boat and play in the cold water.

DJ and Jenny left shortly around 4"ish and we got ready to head to Sparta around 4:30 to find a parking spot for the event where the town closes down to traffic and every visits small groups of different musicians around the town until the headliner starts at 7. Well this night is was a reggae band who were very talented  and sounded quite nice but I was surprised they brought this kind of music to a mountain music town. The turnout wasn't quite as large as usual but still several hundred folks were in attendance.

The twins ran and played around the courthouse lawn which was next to the main stage and we could watch them interact and play with several other kids who were mostly their ages. We had some local desserts which we excellent before the show started but about an hour into the headliner the skies opened up and then the real dancers came out in the street and danced in the rain including both of the twins who were having a ball. Finally the rain let up and we headed back to the cabin for the evening.

Today Sunday we will got to Cornerstone to listen to Priority Blue a bluegrass gospel quartet who will lead the service in music. Our pastor and 3 of the quartet worship with us there as well and the public is invited to attend as well.

Well after getting beat in the rubber match I headed off to some horizontal lab around 10:30, LATER
