Well Monday turned out to be rather warm and humid so after lunch so the a/c went back on after our morning hike to the top of the mountain. We didn't do much after lunch except watch the LLWS games which started at 1 PM and lasted until 9 PM. We did take a ride before supper out to the mail box on the golf cart and stopped and visited with first Grant on the way out and then Keyes as we headed in. I did do some reading in between our hike and lunch but basically it was a do nothing kind of day.
I started the day with a 6'ish roll out to my usual morning routines that start with some quiet times to honor my LORD, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name including daughter Amy who spent the night in the hospital awaiting tests to determine why she was having all of these heart flutters and some arm and leg issues. We spent a lot of the day on the phone with her and thankfully the tests all showed no major issues, so they released her late in the evening. I believe at 40 she may be having some menopause related issues, thats just my opinion thus far; as she hiked the mountain with me often waiting up for me and she is always on the go picking up after three kids, oh well.
I checked all of the gardens and harvested more cucumbers and tomato's. It seems the slugs love both the yellow squash and tomato's this year as I tossed several 'maters in the compost pile along with a couple yellow squash they eat on over night. The lettuce seedlings are showing some color and I'm hoping to move them up into 6 packs later this week. We cleaned up some leftovers for supper and had a salad for lunch and ate lite for breakfast. Our teams we were rooting for won in the baseball games for what ever reason. I did harvest another pint of blue berries from my bushes which are still loaded with fruit to ripen. Seems they ripen every other day.
That was about it for Monday and today we headed to Galax for some shopping both at Wal-Mart and Lowes with a trash drop off on the way. We have meetings at church both this evening and tomorrow evening and then next week we head to Virginia for a long weekend at sister Dee's place in Woodstock. I'll get my ears lowered while we are in town today as well and probably have lunch out. Today was a retirement day but we were anxious about Amy's issues. Prayers were up all day for her and for many others we know who are hurting. One of our dear friends lost a close friend overnight and the doctors say it was a direct result from taking the Covid shot, LATER
