Well Tuesday turned out to be as nice a day as ever for working outside with cool temps and somewhat overcast the first half of the day and then bright sunshine with temps still just in the low 70's. The forecast was for rain most of the day but it never made it to the mountain so I hand watered everything in the afternoon.
I started the day out much the usual with a 6'ish roll out and the cup of hot tea was perfect for this 50's morning while I posted this ramble and then some quiet time with my Creator and Lord giving thanks for my blessings and lifting several up by name for comfort and healing. All seem to be holding as of this moment. I took off on my solo before breakfast hike to the top of the mountain and it was socked in with fog. I checked the gardens after getting back and once again picked a couple cucumbers and squash. We made a stop on our way over to Mechelle's for supper around 4:30 to give a sack of both to our mountain mom.
After a breakfast of oatmeal, cinnamon, honey and a peach I headed out to move the fence around the black raspberry patch a little further out so as to give the runners a place to attach to the ground which were sticking out through the mesh fence. The fence is there to keep the dad gum deer from eating down the new shoots and leaves. Next year I'll not cut them back in hopes of a crop. I dug up the sod and used it in some places that had ruts and holes from the fallen trees which we had taken out of the yard. The grass is really starting to take over the moss now that most of the trees are gone. I still have a few trees I'm hoping Jake will take next winter for his water stove that are along the border of the yard down below.
If was after 1 before we noticed the morning was gone so we had a lite lunch knowing we were having supper at 5'ish at Mechelle's along with Gerald, Kay and Keeton who is her boy friends son. He is such a nice young man and is a senior in high school in Mt. Airy. He is interning at Pioneer Eclispe where Mechelle works as an HR person so he is staying with her during the week. We got into several games of corn hole while waiting on the burgers to cook and the play was great as always and after a delicious supper of burgers, oven taters which Nancy made using our fresh rosemary and parsley from the garden along with sliced 'maters from Kay's garden on the burger, macaroni salad and fresh melon. Kay also made a Key Lime pie for dessert which was delicious and so lite.
Well while the gals cleaned up we threw a few more bags of corn hole and Gerald was on as always playing both ends. We then headed in to play sequence and the gals once again whupped us soundly. It was only Keeton's first or second time to play the game but he did well. At least we didn't have to play a Harvey hand which usually required me to play two hands. A fun time was had and it was after 9 before we headed out for the cabin. We saw a couple deer along the highway on this cool evening. I tuned into the Rays vs Mariners game and they were getting whupped by this west coast team once again 4-2. It was soon hot shower time and horizontal lab for me a little after 10'ish, LATER
Nancy and Mechelle played with the horses before supper and the yards are beautiful after being mowed with the flowers in full bloom.
