Well Saturday found us once again mixing some pleasure with work and we did our good deed for the day as we assisted our "mountain mom" in transplanting some flowering plants. We took our first long golf cart ride over to her place which is 2-3 miles away. It was just a beautiful day with temps in the middle 70's for a high and the low 60's to start the day. We did get a thunder shower for about 1/2 hour which was welcomed by the veggie and flowers we had recently transplanted.
The day started with a 6'ish roll out for me which was a bit unusual as I've been waking around 5'ish or before contemplating all of the many tasks I want to complete. I did my morning routines of a few quiet minutes with my Creator and lifted up those I know and love in thought and prayer and for the return of blessing for our country. I pray with new leadership that we will turn away from all of this "political correctness" and get back to our Judeo-Christian values this nation was founded on and honor GOD and then maybe he will have mercy on this nation once again and heal our land. We sure have let those who are less than honorable get a foot hold in our government and take away the very principles that once made us a nation like no other.
Nancy decided it was time to have a "mountain breakfast" and I agreed. I cooked up some bacon outside on the grill and she made buckwheat pancakes with a ripe banana in the batter and then a couple cackleberries(eggs) on top. I slathered my cakes with honey and they just melted in your mouth. We took half of the bacon and the grease to add to a pot of collard greens we were having for supper along with some dried pinto beans; these are two of my favorite foods and so good for you as well. I spoke with our mountain top neighbors Jetta about thinning out more of her Black Eyed Susan plants and headed up on the golf cart to gather some for our "mountain mom", Helen. We rode the golf cart over around mid morning and dug up a couple spots to transplant them for her. She was most appreciative and it was so good to hug her neck after such a long spell. She is such a work horse for her age and keeps her beautiful place manicured. We visited until lunchtime then headed home.
After a lite lunch of an apple with peanut butter I helped with the house or cabin cleaning as the ceiling fans, under the beds and wood walls needed vacuuming as well as did the upstairs carpet. I noticed the closet light switch didn't seem to be working so I must replace that as well this next week. I took off the riding mower blades and sharpen them as I need to mow once again the first of the week. I did piddle around in the garden and noticed I have lettuce up as well as some beets and something is coming up in one of my pots. I will know as soon as it gets larger but forgot what was in one of the 5 pots I sowed seeds into, oh well! We could hear thunder in the distance but no rain until late afternoon. Ii wasn't a gully washer as some in the area around us experienced but it did come down rather steadily for nearly a half hour or more.
Well that was about it for the day except we did watch some new programs that come from having HD TV as darkness came early with the overcast skies. It wasn't long after a hot shower that I was nodding off around 10 so it was off for some horizontal lab, LATER
Don't forget to find some place and worship with others for His Word say's where two or more are gathered in His name he will be present.
