Monday Morning..Duck Weather

Well it rained all day and all night and at times down pours and of course the fog is ever present thus the name for the road which our drive leaves off of; Foggy Mountain Road. Sunday morning found us up and listening to BridgePoint on the internet and then off to Sparta for the 10 AM service at Cornerstone. It was good to renew old friendships however we had seen about a third of the members at the wedding the night before. After the service we met up with our mountain buddy Caleb and his girlfriend at the Pizzeria for lunch and there we saw his grand parents and their close friends. We just love the small town closeness where everyone is either related or knows everyone.

We made a stop at the local vegetable stand/ plant nursery/cured meats place called Hawks for some local honey and flowering bedding plants. I sure hope our hydrangea's and vegetable plants survive this onslaught of wet weather. The weather is supposed to change come Tuesday. The last time I checked the rain gauge we were at over 8 inches on Sunday morning and that is a lot of water. We noticed all of the creeks and streams were muddy and close to breeching their banks.

We didn't do much after getting back to the cabin as the rain was constant and the inside of the cabin was in the 60's and damp so we turned on the fake fireplace which gave us instant heat and brightened up the cabin. Nancy had it on a couple times before bedtime. I watched the Ray's on the internet win again over the Red Sox's and then I popped some corn for our supper. We had a huge salad at the Pizzeria and a couple slices from their Sunday buffet as well as a delicious dessert which held for the rest of day. Nancy was on the phone and the internet looking up and ordering some new stuff for the bathroom which we hope will be finished in time for our company in July.

The workers are coming this morning to access what needs to be done since I've torn out everything in the bathroom. The drain for the shower is going to be the big issue and then the building of the custom made shower. We picked out the tile for the walls and for the floor and also the vinyl planks for the rest of the upstairs. The carpet has been there for close to 20 years and it was industrial grade to start with. Hopefully we can get this plumbing going this week after the tear out and get some sunshine for the garden as well, LATER
