Tuesday Morning August 20th

Well Monday was another work day for me as I sawed and drilled on those two stubborn stumps but I'm getting them down especially the upper one. The lower one will be another several days but I'm determined to get them out by hand before we leave in October. I broke my recip saw as well as another drill bit, but I'll get them in the end. It was another beautiful morning for outside work but the dew was exceptionally heavy so I'll wait until later in the week to burn again. We did get a very hard down pour during the afternoon and then again another sun shower, so burning is out until at least Wednesday at best.

I started the day with my usual well before 6 rollout to my routines that begin with some quiet time to honor my lord, Jesus, give thanks for another day and to lift several up by name. All are holding and I've heard nothing different on Sandy our dear sweet friend from Cornerstone. Nancy took a loaf of zucchini bread over to neighbor Ann who is recovering from a knee replacement and she is doing well. All others are holding with this post.

I did work in the backwoods garden patch enlarging it and making a barrier of rocks along side the area where the water runs down the hill and off which I hope will keep the dirt in place. I'm hoping to expand that garden patch again next summer as the dirt is very rich. I'm still harvesting squashes both yellow and zucchini as well as cucumbers and now the pepper plants the brat doe ate off are coming back. That kept me busy along with sawing and drilling on the stumps for most of the morning and then after lunch I was limited to how much work I could do outside with the rain showers so I settled into the LLWS for the rest of the afternoon and then again in the evening. The Florida team lost to Texas and will play again tonight in the losers bracket but they still have a chance if they win out.

We finished up the leftovers from Saturday for our supper and it was delicious once again. We shared one steak and still have one left for sandwiches. We are leaving for Winston -Salem this morning early, so not much will be done today as we will stop and visit Helen in Elkin on the way home. Nancy has a doctor's appointment with a specialist on BP issues as she is still having issues with it. Its over an hour down there and her visit is for 8:30 so we will leave with some spare time as we have no idea where the place is located. It was almost like daylight early this morning with the full moon shining, LATER
