Well Sunday was an awesome day of worship both here at the cabin on line and then again at our local church in Sparta. After the service we headed down to the Little River bottom for an old fashion baptizing of 3 fellers, 2 of which were teenagers and the other was a middle aged man who had never been baptized. We then had a picnic on the grounds which is just beautiful bottom land along this trout river which was flowing quite nicely. It was our first time ever to this piece of property which has held many get togethers from class and family reunions to all kinds of events over several decades as witnessed by the writings on the overhead joists that hold up the roof.
I started the day with my usual well before 6 rollout to my routines that begin with some quiet times to honor my lord, Jesus, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name for comfort and healing. There are many on the list and we did see one at church who is failing, but still comes to church. Everyone else is holding as of this post.
We made a stop at the Food Lion on the way home from the picnic and then headed on back to the cabin to take it easy until after a lite supper of a frozen pizza. Then we walked around the cabin yards inspecting the gardens and flower beds and getting some exercise. I started a new read while sitting outside in the comfortable temps on the deck until dusk settled in. Nancy was taking pics and then talking on the phone for what seemed hours. I did watch the Ray's finally win a game over the Orioles.
I hit the shower around 9:30 and then some horizontal lab around 10'ish. Today Monday I want to get back to my original task of getting rid of the two stumps in the back yard. One is about gone and the other will take some more burning as well as sawing to get it down to ground level as I want to be able to mow over them eventually. They are a sore spot to me and make mowing that area challenging. We have our Bible study classes this evening at church and then on Wednesday Nancy wants to take lunch and visit Helen in Elkin, so that means we are down the mountain once again, oh well, LATER
