Tuesday Morning August 15th

Well Monday started out with cool temps and a heavy dew once again but we did see some rain clouds and some lite showers by the afternoon and then again over night. It's a nice soft soaking rain this morning as well which was not in the forecast, oh well. I started the day with a 6'ish rollout to my routines that start with some quiet time to honor my LORD, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name after posting this ramble. All seem to be holding as of this post. I headed out to check on the gardens and to finish my morning praises to the LORD on my now several laps arounds the property. It's just as exhilarating as the steep backwoods hike but not as long at one time, plus I get to see the gardens and then decide what I want to do outside after breakfast. Its at least a tenth of a mile around the outside perimeter and I do anywhere from 2 to 5 laps depending on how many stops I make to pick off the beetles on the flowers. I'm liking this better since Nancy put a stop to the early morning hike up the back trail because of the threat the bear maybe lurking to get me, oh well.

I did some tree trimming with the long pole saw in the front yard as the maples have grown so much this summer and was shading the grasses and then I put out another sack of pelletized lime on some spots that were showing green moss in the yards but mainly in the backwoods yards. I piddled around in the gardens hoeing and pullings some weeds and unwanted grasses in the flower beds until noon. We had a large mountain breakfast with bacon, eggs and grits plus we finished up the last couple of slices of the zucchini bread which was delicious and that held us until around 3 when Nancy wanted to eat an early supper/late lunch as she had her women's Bible class at 7.

I finished up the leftover October beans and had a bowl of leftover collard greens which held me the rest of the evening except for a few dark chocolate pieces. After eating I sat outside on the back porch reading and watching some you tube videos about travel to Alaska. Once she left around 6:30 I walked the yards and checked on the gardens and flower beds then sat outside on the deck in the sunlight as evening fell until 8'ish reading. It was a beautiful evening with pleasant temps. I read until she came home around 9'ish and then hit the shower and read until lights out around 10:30, LATER
