Well Wednesday was another chilly morning nothing real cold but in the 50's to start the day. We are so accustom to the 60's for a low and upper 80's for high that when ever that changes we are thrown out of balance. It did warm up by noon and I got in some good gardening and Nancy some baking for her Christmas cookie give away later this month. She will freeze these first bunches and I broke my oath to not partake by eating 2 of the green ones dusted in powdered sugar from the first batch, oh well. I did get in two solid hours of pickle ball play which helped to offset all those unhealthy carbs.
I started the day much the usual with a before 6 roll out to my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric. I need to get back to have a slice of fresh ginger in my tea as well as it has awesome health properties. I have totally forgotten about that addition, especially after I have a root in the fridge ready to slice, oh well. I did my quiet time giving thanks to my Creator and Lord and lifted up several by name. I've heard nothing to the contrary but a former class mate is now starting to undergo chemo. She is in bad shape with this evil disease throughout her body.
I headed out a little before 8 for the Rec. and since the number of players were down, 5 of us A players had one court the entire two hour session. Well we played hard and left whupped. The temps are supposed to warm up to the low 70's today and many of us will go to the Rec around 10'ish or a little before and probably play outside if the breeze is slight. The lighting is better and the whole game is completely different with power shots instead of the finesse shots outside. The rallies seem longer as well; but you must battle the elements outside.
I transplanted two rows of 9 each lettuce seedlings to where the old black seeded simpson lettuces had matured out that I brought back from the mountain garden in October. These seedlings were bibb and a romaine. I have several I started from seeds that are leftover and no where to plant them. I'll see if neighbor Dan wants them for his grow boxes. I also have extra collards, kale and Swiss chard to give away.
When I got back from pickle ball after a library stop I harvested my first batch of collards from the the three plants I also brought back from the mountain garden. I rinsed and chopped them in small pieces and added them to my pot of chopped applewood smoked bacon, a sweet onion and a couple small cloves of garlic. I brought them to a boil with a quart of chicken broth and then let them simmer for the next 4-5 hours. I must say this food is unbeatable and oh so healthy. I add dried red pepper flakes to my bowl which is like a collard soup. I grilled a couple bone in chops and this was our supper. I have enough for another bowl for lunch today. I found out that collards, Swiss chard, kale and beet greens are super foods and the best for your health plus when prepared the way I do my collards they are just delicious. I have another 12 collard plants growing but they are seedling in sizes. These three plants gave us a really nice mess for the first time.
Well after the cleanup we tuned into the Fox Cable News shows and once more see where the hoax impeachment proceeding were trying to convince us that Trump committed high crimes and should be impeached by three progressive liberals who are professors of constitution law. They were so biased and their resumes which most folks don't know about are completely biased towards Trump all except one which completely made the other three look like fools. This is such a rush to destroy Trump in front of the uninformed public because they know he will beat them at the polls. I've never seen such biased academia against our duly elected potus and these folks are teaching our kids such radical ideas its sickening. We will lose our republic if we let these people get their way. Thankfully we have some sharp republican congress folks as well as real law prof's like Turley and Levin who will shame these others who testified. It's much like the hearing on the supreme court nominee where they brought in biased and lying folks and gave them credible status to discredit Kavanagh. Such dire attempts to destroy honorable people by the dems is despicable, LATER
