Well Wednesday's weather was hot and dry. The humidity is creeping back into the picture which makes for some quite uncomfortable temp's outside in the afternoon and evening until we get the breeze off the Gulf. The mornings are just awesome around daybreak until about 10 o'clock.
I started the day with a little before 6 roll out. I did my usual routine(s) of a hand full of vitamins and supplements washed down with either spicy V-8 or orange juice, a cup of hot green tea, a few quiet moments, the posting of yesterday's activities then a bowl of cereal before heading out on my bike for a 10 minute ride to the rec for some 2 hours of pickle ball. We had 2 courts in action but with a blend of players so the action wasn't quite as great when with just the advanced players but we all still had wet shirts by 10 o'clock.
I piddled around outside in the garden sowing some flower seeds, Swiss chard and tomato seeds and then hand watering the seedlings and what's left of the winter garden before moving around to the front of the house and working in the front yard. I edged the front yards then hand watered the new sprigs which are really starting to spread out over the bare spots where I had weeded. This kept me busy until Amy and the kiddo's came for lunch. GG was off singing with her group so she missed the salad for lunch. Little Eliza Faye and I had our usual half hour of music after lunch while the gals cleaned up until it was nap time for her. We both got in a small siesta before they headed out.
After they left to pickup Ava from school I read until it was time to grill a couple bone-in pork chops for supper. I finished a good read by Jeanette Walls titled THE SILVER STAR, she is the author of THE GLASS CASTLE which was her memoir. We were having house church at 6:30 just up the street and I knew we were having some dips to munch on so we ate lite at supper with just canned spinach and some fried apples to accompany our chops. Nancy made a spinach and artichoke dip and Kathryn brought a taco dip both were awesome and Carol made brownies which I passed on. We watched a video about a new mega church that started in Charlotte, N.C. with just about 8 core group couples and they call themselves Elevation Church. They all decided they wanted to be a mega church and with 5 years they were seeing a weekly attendance close to 10 thousand folks. Their story is awesome and reminded us how Element was started as well as Cornerstone with a dedicated core group. They all sold out from their homes in Shelby(I use to live there many moons ago) and moved lock, stock and barrel to Charlotte to start this church. Now that is dedication to their mission statement and vision for how they wanted to reach the unchurched for CHRIST.
We headed home to watch the Ray's blow another game while Nancy was into the Idol show. I had lights out around 10'ish for me, LATER
