Well it started raining here at the cabin yesterday morning around 7'ish and was still raining when I called it a day last evening around 11'ish. At one time we had over 3 1/2 inches in the rain gauge when I emptied it before supper. There weren't many gully washers thankfully but we did have a stream of water that we could see heading down the driveway. This should have filled the aquifer for now.
I started the day with a 6'ish rollout for a change knowing it was going to rain for most of the day with my usual routines that start with some quiet times to honor my lord, Jesus, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name for comfort and healing. All seem to be holding with this post. I was going to head out to check the gardens when the rain began after stretching on the porch to walk the yards , then it began to rain hard, so that was my exercise for the day, except for going up and down the basement steps. I'm not a fan of being totally shut up in the house but I had no other choice, oh well.
We did out social media, checked the news about Israel and even played several card games after lunch. It was my day to win and win big in two hand, knee and foot games and Nancy won the Kings on the Corner game . I read as much as possible on the internet as I had finished all 4 of the books I had checked out and now have 4 more ready for pickup at the library in Sparta. We did tune into the olympics in the afternoon and finally the LLWS regional playoff games until bed time. Nancy made a new recipe of noodles and chicken in a white sauce that was good but oh so much work and a mess with tons of pots and pans to wash. It wasn't all that great for all that work, but the picture on FB made it look delicious. We have leftovers for another meal.
Today Friday we head into Sparta to run some errands and then back on the mountain. Its supposed to dry out and be beautiful according to the weatherman, LATER
